I appreciate candor, even in someone with whom I disagree. I disagree with his politics, with his enthusiasm for Obama, but appreciate his brutal honesty about the Clintons. No conservative would be able to say what he said. He will get some backlash, but nothing like a conservative would have gotten.
Been a while since we have seen the war room's Politics of Personal Destruction aimed at a Dem.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Here is the link between Saddam and Bin Laden that NONE of the Democrats EVER want to talk about.
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/terrorism/international/fatwa_1996.html
BIN LADEN'S FATWA
Because Saddam invaded Kuwait and we were NOT allowed to finish him, we had to sustain substantial US and British Military forces in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has NEVER been a colony so this was the 1st time "Infidels" had been garrisoned on the "Holy Soil" of Saudi Arabia. This drove the wack jobs like Bin Laden nuts. IT was the primary cause of them planning and carrying out 09-11. To drive us off the "Holy soil" of Saudi Arabia.
So in the aftermath of 09-11 the US had 3 choices.
Surrender to Bin Laden's demands, pull out of Saudi Arabia which would not only uncaged Saddam but would also guarantee we would be subject to more and more terrorism. ONCE the terrorists, like any other thugs, thinks their tactics are working their demands only grow.
Ignore the problem and hope desperately that we can stop each and every terrorists act forever and ever.
Remove Saddam thus removing the reason we needed to have troops in Saud thus removing the Terrorists primary fund raising and recruitment tool while providing us an even BETTER strategic position in the ME.
Sorry, for the confusion.
I was referring to redirecting Dem efforts to wave the white flag. The next President will have to lead and not be led. I meant that Mitt didn't have the proven ability to sway Dems to cooperate. It's harder in DC than on Beacon Hill.
I agree. But let the Dems beat each other up now.
WOO HOO!!
YOU ROCK!
MUAH!
He did do that. He also shouted down a defendant after trial- not good.
ROFLL!!!!
nice excuse!
Where you stand depends on where you sit. I assume that the poll taken by Luntz cut across generational lines. Hence the result "that 52 percent of voters in my election night survey said they were "mad as hell" about politics and politicians. Can you blame them? It doesn't matter whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, the outlook is grim: a war with no end in sight, rising costs of health care, borders that are poorly patrolled, schools that are failing, manufacturing that is disappearing, and a culture that is coarsening."
BEST sustained economic performance ever., Longest period of Full Employment ever. Highest per capita home ownership ever. NO terrorist attacks since 09-11, a war we are winning with fewer casualties then all most any other war in our history. More then 50% taking part via 401Ks and Pensions in the Best Stock Market ever etc etc etc etc etc etc etc!
That is the glass half full. There are plenty of clouds on the horizon, including an out of control entitlements system that threatens our future much more than Islamic fundamentalism. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid represent almost a $60 trillion unfunded liability. In 1950, there were 16 workers paying Social Security taxes for every retired person receiving benefits. Today there are 3.3. By 2030, there will be only 2. Today, 48 million Americans receive Social Security benefits, including 33 million retirees, 7 million survivors, and 8 million disabled workers. By 2030, there will be 70 million Americans of retirement age--twice as many as today.
We have 12 to 20 million illegal aliens who represent an increasing burden on our medical, penal, social welfare, and educational systems. And 500,000 to 1 million illegals are entering every year along with one million legal immigrants. In 1970 there were 203 million Americans, today there are 301 million, by 2030 there will be 364 million, and by 2050 there will be 400 million, i.e., a doubling of our population in 80 years.
These are very real problems that are not being addressed by the political class, which would rather pander to their constituents and take the political expedient course than the more difficult one. Eventually, the chickens will come home to roost. In the meantime we can glory in this period of high stock markets, low unemployment, and low intensity conflict similar to the early 1920s.
;-) I can be vouched for at the highest level. What's your alibi, ec?
Rats....thought we slipped that one in.
LOL
Thank you! That makes Byron York's presence .... of ALL the political minds he could've had on his show ... all the more curious and suspicious.
A minor tidbit which will bring smiles. This rating is just for the DC channels:
http://www.dcrtv.com/
"This Week" Continues DC Slump - 2/21 - More ratings. FishbowlDC tells us that Channel 7's move of "This Week" from 9 AM to 10 AM hasn't helped its sagging ratings. Last weekend, the ABC Sunday political talker ranked 4th in the DC market behind NBC's 1st place "Meet The Press," CBS's 2nd place "Face The Nation," and 3rd place "Fox News Sunday".....
Sorry, correction. He shouted down someone who was contesting her eviction

:-) You get an A for effort though.
Wow, I just listened to Jane Harmon state that the new strategy in Iraq will NOT succeed. It will fail.
(Jane is looking pretty hard edged these days. The paint can't cover it up.)
Hunter talks about our role in extending freedom around the world and how Iraq fits in.
Woofie brings up Dick Cheney's mean remarks about Nazi Pelosi. Woofie wants Harman to respond, not Hunter. Al-Qaida is there because of us, she says. (Well, fine, Jane, what's the problem with that?)
She repeats that there is no sign that the surge is working.
OOOPSY...Jane Harman just said al-queda WAS NOT in Iraq until we invaded..and they came there in RESPONSE to our attack.
She and Carl Levin better get their talking points straight.
Jane Harman can't forget that she lost her seat on Committee because she failed to obey Lapelosi on Iraq.
I said the same thing to my husband when she said that, talking points a little late today?
