snip/National upshot: Rudy's electoral vote position against Hillary is much stronger than Bush's against Kerry. Rudy puts almost the whole East into play and is significantly stronger in several target states in the Midwest and West. Hillary puts some states into play in the South but with many fewer electoral votes than Rudy does elsewhere. Even if you assume that Hillary is stronger against Rudy today than she was in July, the pairing does place the Republicans in a stronger position than Bush was in '04.
You saw the movie? Gore is coming to OU followed shortly thereafter by Pres Bush #41.
They still have not announced our commencement speaker for OU -- have two kids graduating and it had better not be another Tom Brokaw or Katie Couric type.
My daughter had to review a movie for the OU Daily of Oscar nominations and she picked "Queen" which actually was pretty good. I didn't want to see Gore's movie! :)
I have not seen Queen yet, but plan to, soon. It got great reviews.
I enjoyed it! Thought the actress who played Queen Elizabeth and the actor for Tony Blair did a really good job.
As opposed to those in the GOP who think they can diss social conservatives but still demand their vote?
This year my vote is not for myself but my country and military. I'll do everything possible to keep ms.anti-american hillary OUT of my White House
I think they are going to go for Obama due to Hillary's harsh, bitchy tone. I don't think she can make it and her ambition is a bit transparent, I believe.
Found, borrowed and shared. Thanks!
Fine...if the notion of Rudy as the nominee bothers you so much...leave. If there are SOOOOOO many social conservatives out there then you should form an alternative party and drive the "rinos" from office.
You won't...you can't....strict "social conservatives" are the MINORITY in the GOP. You're an even smaller minority in the body politic as a whole, so quit complaining about your views being ignored. In politics the only people who get ignored are the people who don't have the power to make people notice them.
The GOP, Rudy and all...is your best option. Accept reality, support the nominee or get the hell out... It's really that simple.
Supporting anyone but Hillary for 2008 is fine as long as you realize you'll be voting for anyone but Stalin a few years down that road.
An 'R' accomplishes nothing on it's own.
I doubt if she will be there.

Read the polls and weep ...and..take your silly spam and hit the road.
Putting much credence in polls now is stupid. And calling facts "spam" is reminiscent of the Dems calling the Swifties liars - for the exact same reason. It's the kind of tactic used when you cannot counter the facts as presented.
Quite a few Rudy boosters on FR, for starters.
Believe that all you want ... all the way to electoral disaster.
Oh, and one other point here. My views are part of the long-standing party platform. Rudy's largely are not.
Putting much credence in polls now is stupid
Well, you are right about one thing. I can't speak for Spiff, but I am extremely concerned that Rudy can win the nomination, given the front-loaded aspect of the primaries now. Money and bull**** have more sway than ever as a result, and large swaths of the GOP money and bull**** machine are lining up with Rudy - having taken the party a half-step to the left with Bush II, they want to take a full step with Rudy, and figure no one in the GOP can stop them. They might well be right.
But Rudy's advantage in the money and BS department would evaporate as soon as he won the nomination. The Dems are just as good at money and three times better at bull****. And the sad thing is, they won't even need to use their bull**** skills against Rudy. The box of hammers that is Rudy's past will be more than enough for them to hit him with until he is toast.
