So, this is more important than finding a Real Conservative candidate that can get this country back on track?

We are now allowing the media to dictate to us who the GOP candidate should be ?

Give me a break !

The Quinnipiac Poll tends to lean Democrat, so the news is probably even better for Rudy and the GOP.

I wish Rudy were more conservative, but the fact remains that he is the candidate who give Hillary nightmares.

I'd rather beat Hillary with Rudy than lose to her with Gingrich.

Anyone but McCain in the primaries and anyone but Hillary in the general. I could vote for Rudy. McCain and Hillary, not so much.

Maybe Ruddy should run as a Democrat, then.

(Or is it democratic?)

All the Rudy bashing seems to stem from the fact that he's not for outlawing abortion. We've had a Republican pro-lifer in the White House for six years and a Repbulican House all that time, as well. Abortion is still legal. Even if Roe v. Wade is overturned in the courts, there are still going to be plenty of states who will continue to keep it legal.

Personally, I hope Roe v. Wade is overturned so that it can stop being a national issue every GD election. It's time to return the power of self-determination to the states as the founding fathers intended. But, it's also time we stop voting for or against someone on one issue.

Romney is still collecting $$$, and is wowing people in UT, where such response is expected. I don't count him out at this very early juncture. I will vote for whoever can beat Hitlery or Obama Hussein or Edwards. I'll even vote for Rudy, although his abortion, gun, gay and illegal immigration stances truly grate upon this conservative. It's that he maay be unbeatable, but can and should beat the Twofer, the Wicked Witch of the East and her useless perp of a husband. Imagine what a disaster that twosome would be back in the WH! YUK!

"The bad news: It's still over 18 months to go until Election 2008."

Yes, and the polls and people that waste any time with them are stupid if they think they mean anything.
I will start looking around summer of next year.

Loved until he says he's pro abortion and anti-gun. He's toast at the polls.

And Bob Dole was the most "electable" candidate in March of 1996. So we were told. The Dems can't wait for us to nominate this guy. The Stupid Party strikes again.

At this stage, almost 11 months before the first primary polls are only good for one thing, strippers.

How long until the first primary??????? Toooooooooo early for anybody to get whipped up into a frenzy about any candidate. Especially one who is trying to re-invent himself as a conservative.

By the way, there are numerous reasons that this poll is worse than meaningless.

More evidence that we simply don't need the knee-jerk Unappeasable crowd to win this thing.

In fact, we appear to gain more by jettisoning them than we do by caving in to their demands.

They want to sit out? Fine. Let 'em. Just don't expect any consideration if Guiliani becomes President.
