Barr did make the government smaller, he left it.
Ping.
Polls are like AH.....everyone has one. True Conservatives won't vote for a RINO.
Well said.
"True Conservatives won't vote for a RINO."
True Conservatives won't allow a democrat to be elected President.
Answer: It's all downhill from here.
While I have to agree with Barr on this one, I'm no fan of his. I won't easily forget him coming to Iowa to endorse uber-RINO Greg Ganske in the Senate primary against conservative Bill Salier, or his going to work for the ACLU communists.
Rudy, and you, will either learn that RKBA is a serious issue, or pay for your ignorance. Looks like your time to choose, I already had my turn.
I can work for a candidate, or I can ignore them, but when it comes down to anyone who threatens my "inalienable rights", I will work my ass off to defeat them.
Time for you, and Rudy, to compromise, I've compromised as far as I'm going to go.
They know McCain. They don't really know Giuliani.
Forty-two percent of the Republican respondents were aware that Mr. Giuliani was pro-choice.
Quod erat demonstratum. When conservatives learn where Rudy really stands and how that contrasts with what he's saying now, they'll fail to show at the polls in droves, which explains why the MSM is trying so hard to jam him down our throats.
This idea of strict constructionist is open to broad interpretation. What America needs are "originalists" on the SCOTUS.
If you look at Rudy`s track liberal record as Mayor of NYCity, instead of accepting his recent rhetoric at face value, everyone will better understand his politics. Mayor Rudy appointed mostly liberal judges to the NYCity courts. Few Republicans and NO cosnervatives. Even other positions in the city government were awarded to liberals.
Using Rudy`s record as a guide, its a good bet as Prez he would nominate jurists in the mold of Lawrence Tribe, George Mitchell and Alan Dershowitz, then he would nominate originalists like Scalia, Thomas, and Rehnquist.
Well, we saw in South Dakota - a red state - that when abortion was on the ballot and the people given a flat up or down vote, they voted for abortion.
So, we have this situation, in which the country isn't going to do the right thing. Overturn Roe and throw it back to the states? Most of them will vote, in the end, to keep abortion legal. A handful won't. Maybe. But then again, maybe not (the South Dakota vote wasn't that close).
Pro-lifers probably won't budge. Are they the majority of Republicans in the majority of states, or not?
I'm going to assume that Giuliani will play the best among all of the GOP candidates nationwide, because McCain's time has passed and Romney's a Mormon and that creeps people out (whether they admit it openly or not). Giuliani is America's Mayor, etc. Will the Republican voters in primaries in California and New York, Pennsylvania and Illinois and Ohio and Michigan and all of New England - all those blue state Republicans - vote for him? Probably.
He could win the nomination WITHOUT the support of conservatives, in a field where NONE of the GOP leaders are conservative.
And then it's into the general election, where everyone can vote. America's Mayor versus Hillary Clinton? Giuliani wins. Unless a third party candidate runs to his right.
Interesting times.
I saw first hand what a terrific manager Rudy was when he literally turned NY around. He may be personally pro-choice but he's not a baby killer evangalist like Hillar and Obama. I think he will simply appoint strong constitutionalist judges and let the chips fall where they may. Similarly gay marriage is something I don't think he will push one way or the other. You can bet Hillary or Obama will.
True Conservatives won't allow a democrat to be elected President.
***Glad to see we agree on something. Rudy has no place in this race because he splits the base. It's time for him to bow out gracefully.
That may partially account for why over half of the Republicans and Independents (maybe the Democrats, too; I don't recall) indicated that they would like to see someone else in the race that they didn't currently know about.
Uh, I am not supporting Rudy. Read mah tagline.
Thanks
LOL!
BTTT
That's correct. Only the liberal Republicans would support Rudy and let a democrat take the seat.
