Syria on Tuesday called for talks with the United States to cover all areas of contention in the Middle East, a state newspaper has said.
"Syria wants to engage in a dialogue with the United States concerning all issues: Palestine, the Golan Heights, Iraq, Lebanon as well as anything else to do with Arab countries," an editorial in the official Ath-Thawra said Tuesday. "Syria insists on a serious and profound dialogue on all subjects without exception," it added.
What else would they like to discuss?
And maybe that is pure make believe BS to keep us talking and buy time for Iran to finish getting the Bomb.
So like the Leftists all they got to do to con the Dinocons is make retorical kissy faces at them and the Do Nothings will fall all over themselves to play nice with the thugs?
Sorry, Syria is part of the problem not part of the solution, this is nothing but a bluff. A PR con game to buy time and keep us talking.

Syria is no match at all for Israel with or without the Golan today.
If a deal is stuck it needs to be done right. There are ways of making sure Syria could never use the Golan to attack Israel.
Making the Golan a non militarized zone with Israel agents allowed to come and go freely would be the best way. At the first sign Syria is breaching the agreement its over and Israel kicks Syria's ass once again.

My opinion is that they saw all of the Democrats crying for engagement so they went ahead and said "Yes, please engage us - don't be a warmongering country." This doesn't mean they will drop their support for terrosists one iota, it is just a PR vistory for them as they can say they tried diplomacy, but the big bad US wouldn't budge. 1. Immediately stop giving any type of support to terrorists in Iraq and those terrorists coming to Iraq form Syria.
2. Immediately surrender all the Baath leadership hiding in Syria.
3. Immediately surrender all your WMD weapons and stop all your WMD programs. If you have Saddam regime WMD or the precursors to make WMD you must surrender it immediately.
3. Immediately stop funding and supporting Hizballah terrorists in Lebanon, Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist groups in the Palestinian territories.
4. Immediately stop any interference in Lebanon affairs.
5. Immediately surrender all the people in your ruling terrorist regime including yourself for your assassination of Lebanese leaders who including Lebanese PM Rafik Al Hariri.

As of right now such demands would be laughed at thanks to our Congress and the mood in the country. Yes, they do pay close attention to our politics.
