A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

George Washington was born on Feb. 11, 1731, according to the Julian calendar. In 1752, however, Britain and her colonies adopted the Gregorian calendar, jumping ahead 11 days and making January the first month of the year instead of March. According to this calendar, Washington's birthday occurred on Feb. 22, 1732. The federal holiday was celebrated on Feb. 22 until 1971, when it was moved to the third Monday in February.
*George Washington's was the shortest inaugural address at 135 words. (1793) * Washington's favorite sports were fishing and fox hunting. * George Washington left no direct descendant. Though his wife Martha had four children by a previous marriage., Washington never sired a child to continue his line. * Washington refused to wear a powdered wig, which was high fashion in the late 1700s. Instead, he powdered his red-brown hair and tied it in a short braid down his back. * The nation's capital was located in Philadelphia during Washington's administration making him the only president who didn't live in Washington, D.C. during his presidency.
*Abraham Lincoln was the first to include African-Americans in his parade. (1865) *Lincoln was the tallest president. He was 6 feet and four inches tall. *He was the first president to be photographed at his inauguration. John Wilkes Booth (his assassin) can be seen standing close to Lincoln in the picture. *Abraham Lincoln grew his beard out of the suggestion of an 11 year old girl. *Lincoln was shot on Good Friday.
*Ronald Reagan's second inaugural had to compete with Super Bowl Sunday. (1985) *Reagan was the oldest president in history. He was 69 upon his inauguration, and 77 when he left office. *Reagan saved 77 people when he worked as a lifeguard. *Reagan's favorite sport was horseback riding. *Sales of jelly beans skyrocketed when Reagan told reporters that he liked them. *He broke his thighbone in six different places when he slid into first base at a celebrity baseball game. *President Reagan is GodBlessUSA's Hero ;)
Tribute President Ronald Reagan President Reagan Tribute ~ Youtube
*In the 2004 election, a record voter turnout gave Bush more popular votes than any other presidential candidate in U.S. History *He flew an F-102 fighter plane in the Texas National Guard. *Bush was the first Texas governor to be elected to two consecutive four year terms *George W. Bush is the second President who was a son of the President; John Q. Adams was the first.
George W. Bush: This is one of these disasters that will test our soul and test our spirit, but we're going to show the world once again that not only can we survive but we will be stronger and better for it. This is just the beginning of a huge effort.

Good Evening The Mayor.
I love all the Bush photos. I went to the link also.
Glad to see your press release. Such an abuse of funds from the transportation department. Thank you for working hard on putting a stop to this abuse of NYer's money.

A man was walking home alone one foggy night, when behind him he hears
BUMP
BUMP
BUMP
Walking faster, he looks back
And through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its
way down the middle of the street toward him.
BUMP
BUMP
BUMP
Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing
quickly behind him
FASTER
FASTER
BUMP
BUMP
BUMP
He runs up to his door
fumbles with his keys
opens the door
rushes in
slams and locks the door behind him.
However, the casket crashes through his door
with the lid of the casket
clapping
clappity BUMP
clappity BUMP
clappity BUMP
on his heels
the terrified man runs.
Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the man locks himself in. His heart is
pounding
his head is reeling
his breath is coming in sobbing gasps.
With a loud CRASH! the casket breaks down the door
Bumping and clapping towards him
The man screams and reaches for something
ANYTHING
but all he can find is
a bottle of cough syrup!
Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at the casket
and
(hopefully youre ready for this!!!)
The coffin stops.

The Blame Game
READ:
Genesis 3:1-13The man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate. Genesis 3:12
A city employee in Lodi, California, is suing the city for damages after he backed a dump truck into his own parked car. The 51-year-old man argues that because the "citys vehicle damaged my private vehicle," the city owes him $3,600. As ridiculous as this sounds, blaming others has been a basic human trait since the beginning.
When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree, their eyes were opened and they lost their innocence. God asked the man a simple, yet penetrating question: "Where are you?" (Gen. 3:9). In the past, Adam had intimate fellowship with God, but now he responded in fear and hid himself.
Gods follow-up question was more convicting than the first: "Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" (v.11). Then the blame game started: "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate" (v.12). The man blamed God and the woman for his sin. The woman blamed the serpent rather than herself. Ever since that day in the Garden of Eden, we tend to blame others rather than ourselves for our sinful choices.
When we sin, we should take responsibility. Lets pray like David: "I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden" (Ps. 32:5).
Lord, help me not excuse my sin
And blame another person;
For if I dont admit my wrong,
My sin will only worsen. Sper
The first step in repenting from sin is to admit that you are to blame.

Hey, sis, I'm still on cough syrup and finished my second course of antibiotics. We might have caught it from hanging around too much.
