In a straw poll conducted in Maricopa County, AZ, Duncan Hunter beat out all other candidates. Hunter's record had been featured at the event. While this seems almost inconsequential, the point is that when people in any arena find out about him and his issues Hunter attracts broad support.
He's still relatively unknown but with the base not sure of any of the top three contenders, there's a window of opportunity for Hunter to be introduced. He's the best candidate by far and the only one who doesn't apologize for his conservatism and who can properly articulate his philosophy.
Both the Austrian Liberal Governator(R) and America's Liberal Mayor(R) are especially hard to deal with because they have great big smiles, sound really optimistic and positive and are just plain likeable!!! Plus, They are BIG talkers that can really turn heads. The only conservative who has been able to do this is now dead and gone.
Unless Duncan Hunter can find some big benefactors like Reagan did and get a personal theatrics coach... And learn to smile more and not be so danged serious all the time... That's why I'm prayin right now about who wins the Primary!
Rudy's following is a mile wide and an inch deep and may just lose those who are looking for something other than just another shallow politician to thump the Dem's fair haired boy or that battleaxe bich with her icky sticky IRS files, etc.
I'm hangin with Hunter till somebody deep who can act shallow enough to get elected comes on the scene to really take it to the Dems!!! I will never vote for whom I cannot stomach for four years+ because I don't have to!!!
When you don't have to play hide and seek with the truth good things happen.
Hunter - isn't he the guy that said "Works for me" at the end of the credits. Hey, I'd vote for him.
Go Hunter. News just keeps getting better:)
I call shenannigans.
I live in Maricopa County and no one here has a clue who Hunter is.
When we have our primary, he will be behind McCain, Guliani, Romney, and probably two others. He may beat Brownback and Paul.
My guess, McCain (native son, I can't stand his arrogant ass), followed by Guiliani, and the ever present 13% Mormon/Kolob vote for Mitt)
I'm with ya, brother!!! Now's the time for miracles!!!
Good! It appears that the pollsters might actually have tried to make sure that those surveyed were Republicans--unlike the other polls that we've been seeing.
No miracle needed. The guy was a LRRP in Vietnam. His son served in Iraq, and may be there now. He returned from the Nam, SANE after being on LRRP, Airborn and Special Forces. He attended Law School. He graduated and started his own law practise, and excelled. That takes a lot of hard work and dedication. The man is a leader. His voting record in Congress is consistent over the long term with his candidacy platform. This man has no image to construct, he is fine the way he is.
The liberal West coast panty-waist media are scared to death that Duncan Hunter will make the national scene to challange the liberal annointed, preferred front runners, McCain and Giulliani. This gives Duncan Hunter gravitas.
Duncan Hunter is the Dem's worst nightmare. He is also the RINO candidates' worst nightmare.Duncan Hunter is destined to be the next President of the United States. If you call all of this a miracle, then thats fine by me. I simply call him a good Republican American, a rose in a pile of horse pucky.
Join his team, send him a few dollars. Lets ROLL with Duncan Hunter!!!!
Hey, isn't that Mike Dukakis?
Does anyone have a Hunter ping list? If so, add me!
Hunter is starting to look like Columbo.
Antoninus runs it. I hope he's not too overwhelmed.
We need a big change in Washington, and we sure won't get it with McCain, Rudy or Hillary.
Naw. Duncan Hunter looks more like a well seasoned Fess Parker playing Davy Crockett, only this time Davy gets to be president.
Nope. This is Mike Dukakis:
And this is Hitlery supporting the troops, imitating Dukakis:
Duncan Hunter Served. He doesn't have to give tanks.
Yawn. This will end up mattering as much as the "straw" poll that Katherine Harris won in Florida.
From the posting link:
On Saturday, January 13th at the Maricopa County Republican meeting, a straw poll was conducted on the 2008 Presidential candidates and the reasons why the Republican faithful thought we lost the election last November.
That's a nice thought.
