I left JT's spelling as is. I added the emphasis, too. JT will be there for some months to come, but he is talking about going back for additional tours. He also wants to finish college.
When asked for prayer requests a few weeks ago, he responded with "Pray the American people get a clue and vote Republican." I am sure he didn't mean those 17 cowardly traitors. I bet he meant men like Jeff Sessions from Alabama.

I thank your son for his service and will remember him in my prayers for his safety just as I do for my brother.
Unfortunately, those on the other side of the aisle just don't care. They are more concerned with making the President look bad.

I realize I'm joining this thread late, but, in spite of the fact that I probably won't be able to say anything that many other good freepers haven't already said, I just have to add my two cents.
JT, you just hang in there, honey, there are A LOT of us back here praying for you guys and gals every day! We NEVER forget you or the importance of your mission. We thank God for your dedication.
At the same time, I'll be praying for those brave Iraqi folks who continue to stand in line to serve their country despite the fact that they, and their families, may be blown away any second. My nephew, who leaves soon for his third tour over there, said it "beats anything he's ever seen" how they continue to stand up to the bad guys, in spite of everything that happens to them.
As a retired First Sargent's wife, I've a clue what your family (Jemian, et al) has sacrificed too. I'll be including them in that prayer as well. All of you guys take care, and know that the eventual "homecoming" is so "sweet", it's almost worth it!
Thanks, so much, for the post Jemian! It's the good news the clown-car, drive-by media never sees fit to print--or air. Love and prayers to all!

Everyone of those republicans (and the dems that voted to) need to be targeted for electoral defeat.
A great question to ask when these 17 are running for re-election is to have a OIF/OEF veteran, out of service, stand up and ask, "Sir, you didn't support the president to provide troops to help protect our guys in iraq as they battle to bring stability so they can leave. How can you stand today in front of this group and ask for our support? Have you no shame? (or something like that)."
And then inundate their offices with pictures of those that will die between this vote and their next election.

In the Senate, the seven Republicans who voted to advance the measure were Norm Coleman of Minnesota, Susan Collins of Maine, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Gordon Smith (news, bio, voting record) of Oregon, Olympia Snowe of Maine, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and John Warner of Virginia. All but Snowe and Specter could face the voters in 2008.
Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, sided with Republicans on the vote.

The congress that al-Qaida wanted and that the American people gave them is simply doing what it was put there to do.

"even though our politicians doubt them back home."
The RATs are trying to paint the Iraqi Army and Police the same way they painted the ARVN; corrupt, incompetant, not worth supporting.
Next time you talk to your son, tell him I said thanks for his service and sacrifice. We need more Americans like him.

Exactly how Ev feels. He too is talking about going back for additional tours.

It's obvious that the military isn't running away from the situation in Iraq. It is our worthless, stay-at-home politicians who can't take the situation there.
