Quote of the Day-----John Murtha (It's a doozy)

Posted on 02/16/2007 1:52:54 PM PST by Dog

'They won't be able to continue. They won't be able to do the deployment. They won't have the equipment, they don't have the training and they won't be able to do the work. There’s no question in my mind.”

Interesting theory. Putting up with the terrorism that no one else will maybe? I try to cut people as much slack as I can, within reason...

Sounds like this strategy wins elections for some Quisling Democrats, no? [Forget the appeasement, it's far beyond appeasement for some of the Dems, based upon their words and some of their highly ill-advised policy positions].

Strangely, re-review many of the AQ and other opfor statements [when you get a spare min.] over the last few years, and you will see them mirror and use some of the same language as some Dems in some cases, which is totally insane. Also, remember the AQ commentary in our last Pr. election? Eeerily, they were mirroring Kerry's and other's arguments and providing their own strange version of electoral commentary. This bizarre phenomenon is nuttier than a squirrel's pantry.

Here's my letter to my congressman, Steven LaTourette, who was one of the 17 "Republicans" to vote along with Murtha.

It was with a sad heart I learned today that you, along with 16 other Republican congressmen, voted against President Bush's proposal to increase the number of troops to combat Al Qaeda and other terrorists in Iraq.

By casting your vote along with the likes of John Murtha and Nancy Pelosi, you will not only embolden the enemies resolve (as General Petraeus has testified) you will aid in the demoralization and endangering of our troops.

On your Web site, you state that your "opposition to the troop surge will not impact his commitment to fund the troops." However, with today's vote, you have done exactly that. From the February 16 Washington Times: "Murtha... explained that by placing conditions on $93.4 billion in new combat funds, he would make be able to effectively stop the troops in their tracks. 'They won't be able to continue. They won't be able to do the deployment. They won't have the equipment, they don't have the training and they won't be able to do the work. There's no question in my mind,' Mr. Murtha said."

The enemy in Iraq need to be defeated soundly and swiftly. Your vote will enable those who wish to play politics with the War on Terror (and soldiers lives) hold the purse strings to micromanage this war. For an example of the legislature "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory," see the Vietnam War.

By enabling the anti-Bush, anti-War democrats to cherry pick war spending, you have denied a soldier more amunition, more armor, and on-the-ground support. Imagine one of our brave men laying in the streets of Baghdad bleeding because he didn't have a fellow soldier their to "cover his six."

Mr. LaTourette, this is not the type of representation I voted for when I cast my ballot for you in November. By casting your vote, you have lost mine and I will see to it that when you run for reelection, you are replaced with someone who will not turn his back on the troops.

God give us men. The time demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith, and willing hands;
Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And dam his treacherous flatteries without winking;
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty and in private thinking.

-- Josiah Gilbert Holland. 1819-1881

No, Dog, you are not alone. The issue really is that in all truth we are probably no longer a nation any longer. We are at least two nations, if not more with the Balkanization that has occurred. The Democrats, the Left, view those who believe in a stout America that defends itself with vigor, offensively if required, as the great enemy. They DO NOT believe that Islamists, or Al Qaeda, or anyone else is the enemy to be defeated: They believe that their internal political enemies are the enemy to be defeated.

The other America is the America that you know and remember...but it is only half of America now. The other half views America as needing to become the rotten corpse that is socialist Europe today. That's what they view as our future...a future with them in power completely, ruling over a failing and rotting nation that can be completely and utterly controlled to their [short-term] benefit.

This is why you are heartsick. That nation is gone, replaced by a fracturing Republic. It was happening before, but Bush's election in 2000 sent the Left over the edge. They will take power or destroy the nation utterly trying.

I wonder how long before CNN or NBC gets hold of this and plasters it all over the news like they did when Rumsfeld said "you go to war with the army you got." Boy, that ol Murtha is gonna regret saying that when it's all over the cover of the New York Times! Man o man,, ABC and MSNBC will tear him up, just the way they did to Bush over the lack of proper body armor and the lack of armor on the humvees! Yep,, I can remember how Senator Schumer was so angry at Bush for not taking care of the troops and sending those 'kids" to war without proper equipment,, so,, I fully expect Schumer will rip into Murtha with the same passion as he did Bush! oh,, wait a second,, that's right,, Murtha is a Democrat! He can say whatever he wants! In fact,, he can even directly withhold funding that supplies them with equipment, food, training and reenforcements and then brag about it on the radio,, he can even vote on a resolution that encourages more suicide bombings, more IED's, more attacks against our soldiers! Heck,, no one is going to do anything with this! Why's it even posted??

Well, he does know what he is talking about.

Because he will make sure that the troops don't have the equipment they need.

The Military has/had ordered a large quantity of Humvee replacements (may be another manufacturer) that are armored to a much better degree.

The armor plating on the bottom is "V" shaped to deflect the Iranian road bombs and stop the damage and deaths that the Hummers weren't equipped to deal with. And other improvements

He has made it quite clear he won't let them be built

That's his plan to take away the funds so they cannot be available. Then it will be Bush's fault the Troops don't have the equipment to save their lives.

He is despicably clever.

My gut is telling me that this is a Dim dare: someone is going to take out either Mothra, Pelosi, et al. Then they will crack down on our First Amendment Right, such as this forum. This is all designed to split the country, to make it weaker. Take my word for it - Mothra is over the top for a reason, and the reason is to make the conservatives angry enough to take the law into their hands.

The question is, where are our Republican leaders? Why aren't they speaking out on behalf of our troops and our nation?

I think they've all been sucked into D.C. politics. There are a lot of Conservatives out there. We need to organize into a Voice the same way these Democrat twits protest. Lord knows our rhetoric makes more sense.

Our constitution, our freedom, is only fit for a god fearing people. The socialists, and we all know where they are concentrated want to kill god and elevate the state in that place, fine they can have it. When they submit articles of seccession that is.

Our fellow citizens seem to be quite content being immersed in prospective finalists of American Idol than the prospective candidates for the Presidency or Congress. Oprah and Dr. Phil trump meeting the teacher of your children. Sunday morning talk shows, sports events or a sale are more revered than attending a place of worship.

Those of us that are Christians should be on our knees praying to God for His blessings and protection for our country, America.

"How are we going to get out of it?"

Perhaps by following the example of the one thing the French did with gusto -- Revolt, and put the guillotine into general use for EVERYONE who played a role in the decline...

Am I the only one who is heartsick at what has become of us as a nation..

How did it get to this point.

Carter
Clinton
Permissive parents
If it feels good do it
Bad teaching in the schools
No respect for authority
No one held responsible for their actions
Liberal newsrooms
Liberal editors

Feel free to add your own ideas as to why this type of behavior is so acceptable.

There is nobody of leadership in the Justice Department who will take on Murtha for treason. They let Jane Fonda slip through though she clearly violated the Logan Act, and communist groups have violated numerous money laundering and lobbying acts for decades.

Ashcroft might have done something if he weren't undercut from within and attacked by the communists NLG, NECLC, and CCR, aided and abetted by the ACLU and the Moslem jihadist protection groups.

Call the White House and tell them to get some balls and go after this fat bag of treason (and criminal-in-waiting).

And let's go after the 17 Republicans who voted for this betrayal. I hope that Tom Davis is not the one from Virginia - He would now become another turncoat, just like Jim The Ego Webb.
Ron Paul was always a nut. I met him when he first came into Congress. Strange - libertarian to the point of total isolationist and fool for the left.

IT IS UP TO RETURNING AMERICAN TROOPS TO TAKE THE LEAD IN DENOUNCING AND WORKING AGAINST THE TRAITORS AND COWARDS WITHIN THE CONGRESS AND THE MEDIA.

I KNOW THAT MY BUDDIES FROM VIETNAM ARE WILLING AND READY TO AID IN OUR 'SURGE' TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY FROM THE 'TREASON IS IN SEASON' DEMOCRATS AND THEIR COWARDLY LACKEYS.
