WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Democratic-controlled House issued a symbolic rejection of President Bush's decision to deploy more troops to Iraq on Friday, opening an an epic confrontation between Congress and commander in chief over an unpopular war that has taken the lives of more than 3,100 U.S. troops.
The vote on the nonbinding measure was 246-182.
Resolution criticized President Bush for his decision to send more troops to Iraq is a rare admonishment of a wartime commander-in-chief.
"The passage of this legislation signal a change in direction that will end the fighting and bring our troops home," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said before the vote when she endorsed the measure that takes issue with Bush's decision to send an additional 21,500 U.S. troops into battle.

You're right, of course. The Dems have been wanting Vietnam Pt. II and by god, they're gonna have it!
It should be interesting to see how it plays out.
Same as the House version. Reid is going to try to break the GOP filibuster on Sat.
And that 'thing' is third in line for POTUS! YIKES!
It is NOT a rebuke. It is an ATTEMPT to rebuke our President.
Regardless of what the mainstream media calls this legislative bunk, I do not recognize it as a valid REBUKE nor do many other Americans, I am am sure.
God Bless and save Our President. God Bless and preserve our troops.
I'm afraid this garbage will clear the Senate as well.
The Rats have several Republicans on their side.
The Senate doesn't get the same free pass in regards to 'district' sentiment however.
The Senate is bound to party loyalty and party loyalty only. Any Senator who goes against us should be attacked from Air, Land and Sea, RELENTLESSLY!
I live just outside of Ric Keller's district in FLA. I was kinda stunned he was going to vote FOR this "non=binding" resolution". I thought maybe his district included Tallahassee or Gainsville ( the 2 BIG colleges with some possible libs) but it doesn't.
Keller's district includes part of Orlando, Ocala and Eustis, witch is a lot of RURAL country.
I have seen him speak on CSPAN before, and he seemed to be fairly conservative. Somebody must have some pretty wild and damaging pics or video of him for him to vote like he did, and especially his main "reason" for voting yes on this "treason".
Think you've heard it all from the dems of why theyare voting "yes"??
From Keller's OWN web site, and the actual transcript of what he said on the House floor, is his "analogy of why he voted with the dems:
"Let me give you an analogy. Imagine that you have a next door neighbor who refuses to mow his lawn, and the weeds are up to his waist. You mow his lawn for him every single week. The neighbor never says thank you, he hates you, and sometimes he takes out a gun and shoots at you.
Under these circumstances, would you keep mowing his lawn forever? Would you send even more of your family members over to mow his lawn? Or, would you say to him, you better start mowing your own lawn or theres going to be serious consequences for you?"
End of Ric's marvelous analogy.
Hmmmm...so Ric thinks they are too lazy to mow their lawn, so maybe if we just bought the Iraqi's some lawn mowers, Ric would have voted against this traitorous crap??
IMHO,if I can help it, I'm gonna put as much "Round-Up" on his chances for another term in the House as I can get my hands on.....
Glad to see the following voted against this travesty:
HUNTER
POE
TANCREDO
Rohrabacher
Lungren
Pence
Sensenbrenner
And every damn Democrat showed themselves a traitor.
I'M SO DISGUSTED RIGHT NOW I COULD PUKE.
WE SHOULD FIRE ALL THE LOSERS AND START OVER.
MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK AND I DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!
My four Oklahoma Republicans voted against the resolution -- Cong Cole, Fallin, Lucas, and Sullivan.
The lowlife OK Democrat Dan Boren who said he would stand up to Pelosi voted for the resolution.
Those folks in NE Oklahoma need to get someone good to run against Boren and make us have all five seats Republican. He is a disgrace to Oklahoma and all the military we have stationed in this State.
What the heck is that group?
What a bunch of traitors.
We don't want republCRATS.
Playing politics with the lives of the troops to save their own political lives.
May they fall on their (political) sword.
What the heck is that group?

Folks will have to decide for themselves... here's a link to a bunch of threads.
You be da Judge. :-}

I made note, Cedar Dave, that Heather Wilson voted against this travesty. She was trashed a couple of days ago on FR; I thought I would "wait and see." Glad she gets it.
That's strange. When my caps lock button sticks, every letter comes up lower case.
