With liberal Republicans like Rudy, there is no need for Democrats.

Former New York mayor and 2008 presidential contender Rudolph Giuliani said Wednesday he is not sure the tide will turn in the war in Iraq . . . "I'm not confident it's all going to turn around," Giuliani told CNN's "Larry King Live."

Larry King Live isn't even on yet -- another 45 minutes before it's 9PM ET.

Strange.

I would select judges who try to interpret the Constitution rather than invent it...

I'm probably wrong, but I though judges tried cases, not intepreted the law. (A fine point, but important.)

The more I hear, the less I like.

Maybe America will forgive Mr. Newt; what do you think?

Any chance?

King pointed out that Giuliani has said that if he won the presidency he would appoint judges who . . . might vote to overturn Roe v. Wade . . .

"I don't know that," Giuliani replied. "You don't know that."

"I am pro-choice, yes," he said. "But I'm also, as you know, always have been, against abortion . . .

"But I believe a woman has a right to choose, and you can't have criminal penalties. ... I think that would be wrong.

I guess that settles his position on abortion and judicial apointments.

"I'm confident that we have to try to make a turnaround"

Is this spin or some form of mental retardation?

He's being honest. The truth is, the Battle of Iraq may end up being a failure, while the war on Islamic Terrorism continues.

Truth is, democrats have control of the House and Senate, and they are dead-set against the war. More people than not have lost confidence in Dubya, which doesn't help things either. The dems haven't made any major mistakes in congress and enjoy public support. In this climate, the smart money would be that its more likely than not we won't get the results in Iraq that we wanted.

Is that the original headline? Way to bury the lead. The headline completely mischaracterizes his statement.

Of course, that's nothing new around here.

And while he favors gun control, "I understand the Second Amendment," he said.

He still hasn't got the 2nd Amendment figured out yet. Should I assume he has got the 1st down but has yet to start on the 3rd?

"'I'm not confident it's all going to turn around,' Giuliani told CNN's 'Larry King Live.' 'Who knows that? I mean, you never know that in the middle of the war."

In US military doctrine, that consideration (losing a war) is written to be "unthinkable." It is unthinkable for any commander, NCO or commander-in-chief. War is not the realm of people who only have police-related experiences. It is the business of soldiers, sailors and pilots.

And after that comment, Gooeyani waffled. That's a very bad sign.

Very telling statement by Rudy.

Rudy said, "And while he favors gun control, "I understand the Second Amendment".

While liberals (like Rudy) just UNDERSTAND the Second Amendment (what a cop-out response),,,,

Conservatives DEMAND that 'the right to bear arms' be enforced as intended when written.

....and the list gets bigger,
and bigger,
and bigger,
and bigger,
and bigger,
and bigger.......

On a bright note, my brother's future wife who served two terms in Iraq doing reconstruction hurled a pillow at the TV earlier. She said, "he's pathetic!" and changed the channel. Nothing I had told her about him (Rudy) was able to get her to rule out Rudy, but one interview did.

"But I'm also, as you know, always have been, against abortion . . .

That's a bald faced lie. He's been for abortion since forever. And he even told George Will on national TV in 2000 that his support for partial birth abortion was "firm".

I can't believe the lies that he thinks he can get away with now. He must really think that the Republican primary voters are stupid.
