He's Ready If You Are (Rudy Giuliani)
American Spectator ^ | Feb 8, 2007 | R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.,

Rudy Giuliani will prevent a conservative crack-up.

Today, after very little effort, Giuliani is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. Dick Morris is predicting a Giuliani vs. Clinton race in 2008. Yet some conservatives are dubious of the man who cleaned up New York, returned it to a vigor unimaginable from the 1960s through the 1980s, and then led New York and the country heroically through 9/11. Well, one knows a politician by the company he keeps, and Giuliani has around him the financial people who created the libertarian-conservative Manhattan Institute. He relied heavily on the Institute's policies while governing New York. He will rely on libertarian-conservative policy makers in his race for the White House and once there.

There are none so blind, as those who refuse to see. And there are some on FR, who REFUSE to see reality. They much prefer to enjoy their delusional state.

Y'know, if Bill Richardson ends up being the Dem candidate and Rudy the GOP candidate, I think I would rather vote for Richardson than Rudy, being that Richardson is pretty strong pro-gun.

It would be the first time in 38 years of voting that I would vote for a Dem!

He had prostate cancer, which his father had DIED from at an early age, in the middle of that campaign. What did you want him to do...ignore getting treatment, continue campaigning, with that on his mind?

[.. He(Newt) said "this is not the time, I'm waiting until OCTOBER to even consider it, it is far too early. ..]

He's 100% correct, as usual.. It is too early..

The MsM is not thru grooming Giuliani yet.. for the run against Hillary..
Most all Air and MsP time will be used up for this grooming..
Money and time used now is a waste..

Clue: whatever the MsM supports is 180 degress OUT of plumb..
The MsM and ALL RINOs HATE/despise Newt Gingrich..
Oh! and the feminazis and other ditz's..

Example: Giuliani treats women no better then Newt does.. but he's annointed.. you see..

"You don't leave health of the mother out in any abortion issues IMHO. Once the health of the mother is left in, the courts are letting the bans stay.

Well that's an answer. Now I wonder if any have been done, under a ban, and ma's life was considered the justification. That's just a question I have now.

"I feel the same way and don't see why anyone would object.

I object, because I see no valid medical reason for it. None.

I think a lot of liberal democrats would be happy to vote for Rudy.

I object because there is a distinct difference between the "health" exceptions and "life of the mother" exceptions. Health exceptions are bogus and are used to justify abortions for "mental health".

If you don't understand that Newt has the political and financial backing in place already then you aren't paying attention

And his poor polling right now.

In one-on-one matchups with Republicans, Ms. Clinton outpolled Mr. Giuliani 53% to 32% and Sen. John McCain of Arizona 55% to 26%. LINK

February 23, 1999 - Hillary Clinton Doubles Lead In Senate Bid With Giuliani, Quinnipiac College Poll Finds; Mayor Leads In Understanding New York State Issues

First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton has doubled her lead over New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in their undeclared U.S. Senate race to 54 - 36 percent, an 18-point gap, with a 62 - 27 percent lead among women, according to a Quinnipiac College poll released today.

In a February 3 poll by the independent Quinnipiac College, Mrs. Clinton led Mayor Giuliani 51 - 42 percent, a 9-point margin.

They no longer consider themselves democrats after the Clinton years... they voted twice for Bush, and plan on voting for Guiliani based on the belief he can lead this nation in what they consider a top priority... the war on terror.

1. I am not a Paleo.

2. I lived in NYC when Rudy the RINO was Mayor.

3. He is as qualified to be President as Richard Speck was to run a nursing school.

4. Other than his pseudoconservative "foreign policy" (really just 3rd hand talking points from the Likud Party), he is a Clinton/Lieberman Democrat.

5. Is New York really an AMERICAN state? ;-)

6. After eight years under Giussolini, NYC remained a socialist sh-thole. Just think what he will do to the country!

"Liberty Over Security, Now and Forever!"

Let's not forget that the majority of NYC's inhabitants are either from the Third World, or descended from the 3rd World. A control freak statist, with no tradition of deference to classical conservative/libertarian thought, appeals to them, to say nothing of wealthy Manhattan social liberals.

Y'know, the rancor you Rudyites have displayed against the conservatives here with that "whining men" comment has been typical of all the Rudy supporters towards us conservatives...disdain, contempt and thinly concealed hatred.

We've been told we are KKK, we've been told that we "have [our] feet pressed down on [your] necks" because we believe abortion is murder and support the 2nd Amendment, and we've been called various other epithets.

So, it's obvious that you ardent pro-Rudy Freepers support him because you are liberals, i.e. you supprt abortion and wish guns to be heavily regulated, if not banned altogether, and you want the GOP to move away from the Reagan-era conservatism towards the more liberal Jacob Javits/Nelson Rockefeller/Mark Hatfield era.

BUT, and here's the thing, this is a CONSERVATIVE forum, and if conservatives vote for him, it will be because they are holding their noses and voting JUST to stop Hitliary, not because they support abortion and wish our guns to be banned or heavily regulated.

If you wish to convince us of Rudy's conservative CV's, I suggest you do so rationally, and with a modicum of respect, else you'll lose everybody to the right of Stabenow.

Ed
