KANSAS CITY, Mo. A series of explosions has rocked the east bottoms area of Kansas City.
The explosion happened just after 2 p.m. in the area of Nicholson Avenue and Gardner. Firefighters are on scene at the Chem Central with hazardous materials crews.
Watch live coverage from NBC Action News.
Emergency crews have evacuated the area. Some residents and business in the area have experienced short power disruptions.
My coworker is out driving around and according to him "it's not that bad".
The fun time we're having here! My son is glued to the T.V. right now. I'm beginning to worry about the fascination with fire. :o)
Thanks, LSA...
You're on the plaza?
Those pics are great. Are you taking them?
That's quite a picture.

"Muslim extremists."
You're trying to stir these folks up aren't you?
I believe she is to the north of all this and the cloud isn't heading her way. Keep trying to reach her, though.
Who, me?

From one poster on the above linked thread:
"Holy crap! There are now big flakes of black ash starting to fall outside my windows."
The pictures are wonderful!
No, I'm in Chicago.
I've linked the forum where I found the pics.
Tiffany Springs is up by the airport, almost due north of the blast, so your daughter should be fine.
No, it's not me taking the pics.
Thanks for that link.
I read that there's some kind of gunk like molasses dropping out of the sky. ICK. Stay safe, all. Nothing to mess about with. Prayers for all in the path of that black cloud.
