Gee...nothing to worry about in those chemicals.

Looks like a mushroom cloud from my house. It's blowing away from our home, but I worry about the others in the area.

I can't watch it, I'm only allowed internet access via dial up on a pc that's not hooked into the internal network.

Where's the FR hype? Someone blame the Muslims!!!! :-)

Whoa, they are evacuating 6 elementary schools and taking all the students to a central location, gave the parents a central number to call.

They have also closed the Paseo Bridge, and with all the road closures downtown as it is, traffic is going to be a nightmare.

Just heard that it is was a 10,000 gallon tank of a petroleum based product which were kept heated exploded, and then the next 10,000 gallon tank, and then it just chain-reacted down the line.

That's a massive fire. I'm in Ohio and going to go outside to check if I can see it from here. (joking)

I hope everyone is safe.

Yikes again. I did just see a short blurb on FoxNews. It showed a pretty HUGH fire.

Hope osage and OT can get home safe.

I'll think about blaming terrorism when I see a similar type explosion at a building that does not handle volatile, flammable, explosive chemicals day in and day out, especially when the weather is dry enough to cause static sparks and the temperature is cold enough to make people want to turn on a heater.

That thing looks so hot I don't know if they can dream of getting close to it. It looks like there's lots more around it that might go. Train cars full of who knows what, surrounding warehouses.

How far is this away from Tiffany Springs? My daughter lives there and I am having trouble talking with her. Her cell phone is intermittant and I could only get that she was okay.

"If you haven’t heard, there has been a chemical explosion to our North. Our Building Management is coming to shut down our intake air limiting what will come in. We have contacted the Police Department and they have told us to stay inside for now until they notify us. We will keep in touch with them and keep you informed."

Yikes! This is the e-mail my husband just got from work. Guess I won't make a big dinner tonight. LOL! Sweetie, if you read this, it may be a kid-friendly mac and cheese night!

OT doesn't work in the downtown area, so I'm more worried about her driving home and maybe breathing that polluted air if she has to drive through any of it.

We live south and east of the downtown area, so OB should be okay except for the massive traffic jams.
