Oh that's just baloney.

And, btw, ultra social conservative Pat Robertson thinks that Rudy Giuliani would make a good president.

There's a famous quote to explain that . . .

Rudy is too pro-abortion for me, he may not be too pro-abortion for you though. And as far as Pat Robertson goes, I've lived in Virginia Beach since I was eleven, I've met Pat a number of times and I've long since stopped believing a word that comes out of his mouth.

Is that supposed to impress us "stupid one-issue ultra right-wingnut anti-Rudy idiots"?

In case you haven't noticed, Pat Robertson has come out with some pretty wacky stuff lately (this Rudy comment just being the latest one). Remember this little gem?

EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin (CNN) -- A White House spokesman denied Wednesday that President Bush told Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson that he did not expect casualties from the invasion of Iraq.

If you put any creedence in what Pat Robertson says, you've got bigger problems that supporting Rudy.

Thanks for your sensible outlook, Peach.

While I hesitate to even post on this thread, I am doing so. I won't respond to any Rudy haters, so don't waste an attack on me.

I am very staunchly pro-life and I "want" my president to believe the same.

I also am strongly against anything that promotes or "normalizes" the homosexual lifestyle.

All that said..............the thing that frightens me most at this point in time is terrorism. If Hillary Clinton is elected, God help us all. I also believe that, like it or not, she will be hard to beat. I think Guiliani is one candidate that very well could.

I may not like any of his liberal views but I think I might sleep better at night with him in the White House instead of Hillary. If we don't have a president the terrorists fear, we can forget all the other issues that matter. OTOH, if we can manage to stem terrorism to a decent degree, we might survive to fight the other wrongs of society, i.e. abortion, homosexuality, etc.

While he was the “Republican Mayor” of New York City he appointed more than 60 men and women to the Civil, Criminal, and Family Court benchs. In all of those judicial appointment not one of them was a Republican.

All of his judical appointments were either registered Liberals or registered Democrats. As the “Republican Mayor” he had appointment power over more than 70 full commissioners in more than 50 City agencies, yet at no time during his administration did REPUBLICANS account for more than 10% of those appointments.

He even appointed Chuck Schumers wife as the City’s Department of Transportation Commissioner.

“And even as we grieve for those who lost their lives, and our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their loved ones, we may be able to find some sort of meaning in this tragedy by using it as a catalyst to revive national gun control efforts.”
Rudolph Giuliani

I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. ANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.

KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.

GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.

KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.

JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.

KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.

GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.

Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY

Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

You've posted that Pat Robertson link 15 times today in all of the Rudy threads.

WE GET IT ALREADY!!!!

OK, so Pat Robertson mentioned off hand that he thought Rudy might be a good President. Big friggin' deal.

Rudy said he is pro-choice and would NOT have voted to ban partial birth abortion. That might be fine with you and Pat, but its NOT OK with me, or 95% of the other pro-lifers out there. Rudy is not a conservative, and no amount of dopey Newsmax links are going to make him so.

ultra social conservative Pat Robertson that Rudy Giuliani would make a good president.

I was in the "persuadable" column on Giuliani before yesterday.

Between last night's extremely unsatisfying performance on Hannity & Colmes, and Pat Robertson's endorsement, I'm pretty sure I have to move over to "No Giuliani, no way, forget it."
