While he was the Republican Mayor of New York City he appointed more than 60 men and women to the Civil, Criminal, and Family Court benchs. In all of those judicial appointment not one of them was a Republican.
All of his judical appointments were either registered Liberals or registered Democrats. As the Republican Mayor he had appointment power over more than 70 full commissioners in more than 50 City agencies, yet at no time during his administration did REPUBLICANS account for more than 10% of those appointments.
He even appointed Chuck Schumers wife as the Citys Department of Transportation Commissioner.

Silly! Actions don't stand for themselves.
They speak for themselves! :-)

Yeah! I think the pundants have it all wrong. This was never about wanting the dumbocrats running the government. This was about punishing the president about the real issues like ignoring the base when it came to the border issue and the budget. The POTUS was running around spending our money like it was his. He was unresponsive to the people who put him in the Whitehouse.
Conservatives are not war weary. We don't like the war... wish it was over but we have been behind the president all the way. I miss Rummy... This election was about the base punishing bad behavior. We liked the economy. We loved the Supreme Court Nom's. save the one that W had to rethink... What was her name? JD Hayworth was kicked out by a concerted effort of Hispanics to shut him up because he was right about the border. The base was willing to suffer through 2 years of pain to get our message out to the RINO's that will never support bad behavior. We truly wish to come out in 2008 to support a REAL conservative.
By the way, I broke down and voted. But I know alot of conservatives that stayed home.

the 2A guarantees blanket, "no questions" concealed carry as a constitutional right? "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
It's pretty clear to me.
the NRA wouldn't dare take that into federal court, and you and I both know why.
Yes, because they'd lose. But that doesn't make these laws constitutional anymore than Roe legitimately found a right to privacy in it.
To: Howlin
I wouldn't use that term, in my view it's reserved for illegality, or clear abuse of the system. I wouldn't have called Clinton a draft dodger were it not for his resignation letter.

I love what he just said: Even if we leave Iraq...WE'RE STILL AT WAR ... THEY WILL COME HERE AND KILL US. Why is that simple fact so difficult for politicians to convey? Because he says what he believes, and doesn't give a damn about the PC crap.
The single issue voters with higher priorities than the WOT are clueless. If you're dead, then you won't be around to deal with other issues.

Personally, I would prefer the Newt/Rudy ticket rather than the Rudy/Newt ticket.

I think Dubya and the GOP congress damaged the Conservative brand, and before we can get a conservative in again, we need to improve the reputation of the brand.

I so totally agree with you.
I just hope that we don't neglect the fact that 21 GOP Senators are up for reelection in 2008.
We need to go over the list and see if we need to try and find more conservatives to run in the primaries against them.
Like say..Norm Coleman!!!

Thank you, gidge.
I am beginning to question the motivation of those who would bash fellow Republicans with reckless abandon whose only crime is to disagree on strategy or philosophy.
Always wonder about he who casts the first stone.

Rudy would rip The Beast apart. She's too stupid to think on her feet. Rudy is a lawyer. The Beast isn't. She just lies and screams. Zero substance.
