How very right you are with that post. The GOP is very lazy and it's gonna kill us in the end.

It would take one well produced commerical showing Rudy in a dress, his quotes on gay marriage & abortion and his gun grabbing positions to end that "Right On Rudy" flood.

The guy could literally be destroyed in a 30 second spot using his own words.

From everything I am getting, he believes the social issues belong at the State level and so do I!

My belief is he is not going to do anything but support the 2nd amendment because he has brought in people that would not support him if he did.

I believe like you that he would do a better job on the WOT -- kumbaya he is not!

Rudy did such a great job at cleaning up the city that people who aren't familiar with NYC before Rudy took over have no idea how bad it was post-Dinkins. There were no tourists in Times Square. People were afraid to walk around Times Square. You couldn't walk at night - nothing but thugs, junkies, hookers and homeless out.

I am crazy about Cheney, I trust him but it doesn't look like he will run. You know the dems are afraid of him, that is why the MSM has vilified him for 6 years.

Not only did Rudy support the assault weapons ban he also sued gun manufacturers when he was mayor.

There is such a thing as liable for slander. One should be very careful from here on out, with how they present any thing of that sort. There may be legal ramifications to contend with.

""Fox News anchor: "My e-mail is being flooded with e-mails saying "Right On Rudy"!"

So much for Rudy not going over well with the "conservative" base.

Guess all those emails you get telling you how small your "tool" is means it really is then? Or how about those ones that say you need to send some money to insert_name_here so they can make you a million dollars, are these also true?

Get the point?

He's too liberal on all social issues, and he also has a bunch of "negative personal baggage" problems! I still don't understand why he only concentrated all of his future political ambitions on a possible run for the '08 Presidency when he should of either ran against Senator Clinton in '06 or ran for N.Y. Governor in '06 instead. Rudy should spend some time as either a U.S. Senator or as a Governor before running for President of the United States. I really don't see what will make Rudy become the Republicans final choice for the '08 Presidency.

While I have many issues with RG, I ask any RG supporter to please help me with but one issue........his stand on the 2A!

He has yet to speak of these things in the context of a Presidential campaign. It's worth noting that GWB would have signed the Brady Bill extension. I think the best you can hope for is a sincere position that it's a state an local rather than federal issue, recognition that it's an individual not collective right, and conservative judges. Of course Alan Dershowitz and Lawerence Tribe take the first two positions, and they'd regulate the heck out of individual ownership. In fairness, the President's constituency isn't the same as a mayors, but he's got explanations to make on this and other issues.

This is why you should vote for Rudy. Lets first address the social issues. Let's start with pro-homo. He's AGAINST gay marriage. Now as far as homos go, personally, I disagree with their life style but as long as they do what they do in the privacy of their own home I really don't care and nobody else should either, especially not the federal government. The POTUS doesn't have the power to stop people from being gay. And he surely shouldn't be interferring in people's private lives. So therefore voting on the basis of this issue doesn't make much sense.

As far as abortion goes, we have a pro-life President now but we are still having abortions. No president has the power to stop abortion. Rudy has already said he supports strict constructionist judges like John Roberts. He constantly praised the President for appointing Roberts and Alito. He said Roberts is his ideal justice. Assuming Rudy gets elected President and appoints Roberts-like justices then maybe Roe v. Wade will get overturned. But even if it does get overturned I hope you're not naive enough to think that would stop all abortions. The abortion issue would then revert back to the states and do you really think California would outlaw abortions? Being pragmatic in our thinking we all know we can't completely stop abortions. Therefore voting solely on this issue very unpragmatic. I hate abortions too but I realize that regardless of how many pro-life presidents we elect, its just not going to stop.

I'll admit his past gun stances are bothersome but I think he'll say that what's good for NYC isn't good for all of America and won't push for gun control. Are Democrats pushing for gun control now that they have control of Congress? No. And nobody has pushed for gun control since Gore lost the election in 2000. Everyone knows its a losing issue and I don't see any push for gun control by anybody in the near future.

Rudy is great on all the other issues, the ones where the President actually has the power to make a real difference, like the WOT. He's fiscally responible(he turned a NYC's deficit into a surplus), a tax cutter(he cut over 20 taxes as Mayor), conservative on domestic policies(he dropped 600,000 people off welfare, cleaned up the rampant crime as Mayor and supports school choice, ect), supports strict constructionist judges, and is 100% perfect when it comes to his stance on the WOT and all other foreign policy which by the way is 100 times more important than worrying about what some gays people are doing, gay people that doesn't affect your life at all!!!

With Rudy you are not getting a liberal, you are getting a man who is conservative on most issues, the issues where the president actually has major influence over and yes he is fairly liberal on a couple of social issues, issues that the president has very little influence over. Nowadays judges have the most influence on these issues and Rudy supports strict constructionist so that pretty well takes care of the social issues and will help us get these issues back to the states where they belong. So on the AVERAGE he is fairly conservative and not a liberal and more importantly conservative on the issues where the President can make a difference. And most importantly he will continue Bush's work on the WOT and give us a great foreign policy.

Finally, Rudy and McCain are, IMO, the only two Republicans that can win in 2008. So take your pick, Hillary, McCain, or Rudy. Sure, you can "choose" another Republican but he will lose to Hillary. Back to Rudy, If he's elected President and fights terrorist like he fought crime as Mayor can you imagine the results we will in the defining struggle of our generation, the fight against Islamic fascism. You know for a fact Hillary will surrender the terrorist and hand our foreign policy over to the UN and EU and poor Israel would be left out to dry. Rudy is extremely competetent and a great leader and there is nobody I want more as Commander in Chief. So you go ahead and worry about gays, people that don't affect your life at all. I'm going to worry about Islamic fascism, you know the people that want to kill us all, and vote for someone that will go after them.

Lets review history. World War II ended in 1945. SEVEN years later in 1952 the most popular general of the war, Dwight Eisenhower, won in a landslide despite far right extremist unpragmatic Republicans not supporting him in the primaries. History always repeats itself.

From everything I am getting, he believes the social issues belong at the State level and so do I!

Overturning Roe v. Wade would return abortion laws to the state level. Giuliani opposes overturning Roe v. Wade.

The Federal Marriage Amendment, co-authored by strict constructionist, states rights champion, Judge Robert Bork would have allowed states to outlaw gay marriage/civil unions/domestic partnerships at their level without federal judicial activist interference. Giuliani opposed the Federal Marriage Amendment.

Giuliani opposed the Partial Birth Abortion ban that the was passed by a Republican-controlled Congress and signed into law by President Bush. Some want to pretend that he opposed the ban because they want to say that he believed that it is a state issue. Yet, Giuliani also opposed the New York State Partial Birth Abortion Ban.

There is no evidence that has been provided by anyone here that his social issue positions are based upon them being better legislated at a state level. It is just something that the Rudy-rooters made up to rationalize Giuliani's opposition to the majority of the socially conservative Republican Party Platform. It is an excuse for supporting the most liberal major Republican Presidential candidate in U.S. history.

Presenting an actual image of someone is slander? Using their actual quotes is slander? In a political commercial at that?

You're nuts.

I'm also a strong believer in States' Rights, thats why I hope he would support States' restrictions on abortions. In the end, if what you say is true, and I sincerely hope you're right, then I would vote for him in the New York State primary and the general.

Hillary is in big trouble. The upcoming months will play this out and it is going to be fun to watch.
