My husband and I both thought most of the ads were in poor taste and were indeed violent. Fortunately, there were exceptions. We LOVED the blockbuster ad with the mouse. We laughed ourselves silly and talked about using our mouse at work today as we left the house, again laughing. Other honorable mentions that I can remember: Sprint (connectile dysfunction) and Justin Timberlake (who knew he had a sense of humor).

Gee, what a shock. This pantywaist douche admits that he is a "someone who has watched the Super Bowl XIX years in a row only for the commercials."
The problem with the spot was that whenever the announcer said, “a rock” — invoking the Prudential logo, the rock of Gibraltar — it sounded as if he were saying, yes, “Iraq.”
I can relate. Whenever people say “ridiculously pompous obsessive handwringers” it sounds eerily like “New York Times typists” to my ears.
