I always love seeing this picture.
This reminds me of the movie, "World Trade Center," which I watched recently. One the things that really made my heart swell was when Former Marine Dave Kearns, (who BTW was not in the Marine Corp. at the time but went anyway) who originally discovered the trapped officers, stands amongst the rubble and declares, "We're going to need a lot of good men to avenge this."
And, when he said to the trapped officers upon first finding them and they asking Kearns and another Marine not to leave them, "You are our mission." And, they stayed with them until they were sure they were taken care of by the rescue teams.
It should be noted that both of the Marines came on their own and searched the rubble at night after the official searches had been called off.
God, we do have a lot of good men (and women).
