More voters say they would be comfortable with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as president than other top 2008 contenders, though majorities would also be comfortable with other leaders from both parties, according to the latest FOX News Poll. In addition, of all the 2008 hopefuls announced or frequently mentioned as a possibility voters want to hear more from one candidate specifically: Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from January 30 to January 31. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

Idiots voted for Perot, stayed home, otr voted for some other moronic fringe candidate and gave us EIGHT YEARS of Bill Clinton. WHY? Becuase not only were they political naifs, but also nose cutter offers.
President Bush the elder said "NO NEW TAXES" and then fell into the trap that the Dems had set for him, so some people abandoned him and we got EIGHT YEARS of corruption, UNCONSTITUTIONAL RETROACTIVE TAX INCREASES, giveaways or selling American technology and secrets, completely ignored terrorist bombings/killings, and scardey cats who let OBL go free, when they could have had him on at least FOUR different occasions!
Love, like, or hate Bush the elder......he NEVER would have been complicit in ANY of those things!
Very well stated! Never could figure out the people that voted for Perot. Little Big Ears had nothing to offer that I could see. I keep remember the Limbaugh parody about "They are coming to take me away, away" and he still got enough votes to allow Clinton to win. I have always heard Perot got back in the race at the urging of Carville.
Clinton would have beaten Bush pere without Perot. Bush pere would have obtained more than half of the Perot votes in the South, and less than half in the North. That is what the polls showed. Blaming the coming of Clinton on Perot is an urban legend.
He and I have debated this, one on one, before, and nobody had to call him in, to get him to trash me/suspend me/ban me, or whatever you think he will do for you.
Jim may own this site and make the rules, but at this point in him, he has yet to say that it is against FR posting rules to post threads about any candidate, nor support one who is a REPUBLICAN!
FYI..................I have yet to see Jim pick ONE candidate to support. And you know what? If he picks one, says that that is who every member or lurker has to support, right now, or they can't post to FR, FR will DIE!
I bet you have NO idea who Jack Newfield was. LOL
What are you going to do when your candidate in the primary doesn't make it?
You don't even have ANY anecdotal evidence for what you post about how "Rudy will split the GOP and alienate the base"! LOL
Sometimes I get over-wrought by these spit-fests on FR, but, I eventually get to the point where I have to fine humor in it all, otherwise I might fall into despair.
BTTT for security!
McCain can't do it either; he is already losing steam.
GIULIANI: I think so. Depending on how powerful the credentials are. Are they very accomplished lawyers, very accomplished judges, do they have the intellectual capacity and the integrity for the job? if they're very powerful candidates, I think there isn't going to be as much focus on one individual position.
That statement says nothing about judicial philosophy, adherence to the constitution, etc. As a matter of fact, it sounds eerily similar to his oft discussed remarks on Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Throwing out a few platitudes about former colleagues in the justice department who already sit on the court means very little to me.
I know but it gives me a chance to use "Little Big Ears" in my reply.
Perot was responsible with Ma Richards on Texas TAAS tests of putting the testing at the beginning of the year instead of at the end when the kid's had the whole year of study to be tested over. We had been transferred to TX and my daughter could not figure out why she was tested in Algebra at the beginning of the year when she was taking it for the year. Gov Bush then takes over moves the tests to closer to the end of the year and test scores go up!
I love the humor -- made my evening when I was reading.
I know what you mean though because it can really get irritating at times.
Keep the humor coming!
Is that the sequel to "Rosemary's Baby"?
A "red x"?
Maybe that's because the quote was taken out of context. What was the question? Was it about judicial philosophy? I know that a lot of what the Bashers put up on this forum about Rudy is an interpretation filtered through their fevered brains, so let's see the context of the quote before we judge, OK?
Could be... but there are many that would never vote for Mitt, McLaim, or Rudy.. because they are liberals.. but the ones that would vote for those 3 would vote for Newt if he did run.. makeing Newt MORE electable.. than them..
It's just so much easier to CCP someone else's words and pictures, than to actually have to THINK and write something of one's own. :-)
Im pro-choice. Im pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. No, I have not supported that, and I dont see my position on that changing, he responded. RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.
GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.
KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.
JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.
KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.
GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.
Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY
Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.
