Would that survive scrutiny at the WTO?

The U.S. and Australia are the only major industrial nations to reject the treaty

Most of the worlds population have rejected this scam. I guess China and India don't count?

U.S responds with an "idiot tax" of all French goods.

French economy tanks.

Go ahead Jacques. It ain't like you're selling Renaults or Peugots here anyway, and I can certainly live without French wine and cheese.

It's not like France is meeting its obligations on carbon emmissions with respect to Kyoto...

Screw you, Chirac !

So, Chirac is ready to put the French economy up against the U.S. economy in a potential trade war to punish us for not ratifying Kyoto?

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

This is just another way to get a trade tariff (to protect France's subsidized industries?). If the EU imposes sanctions/tariffs on the United States, the United States can do the same to the EU.

Of course that's when Bush should sign an executive order nationalizing all French owned businesses and assets within the US and then watch the frogers piss les pantz.

He can kiss my carbon ass. What's really going on in the world is that China is running a really dirty economy and all that Kyoto nonsense exempted China. It's ok for a communist dictatorship to soon surpass the US in carbon pollution, while preparing to kill lots of free Taiwanese in a war of aggression.

Chirac is threatening us? France is a signatory to Kyoto, and they are`nt living up to the agreement.

"Europe 'behind on Kyoto pledges'"

"France, Greece and Germany are given an "amber warning" and will not reach targets unless they put planned policies into action, the IPPR said."

A unilateral carbon tax against the USA is, IMO, a declaration of WAR.
I wouldn't be at all opposed to B52s over Paris if France pulls this crap.
The whole Kyoto treaty is a socialist conspiracy to make the world into a global socialist society for the re-distribution of wealth.

In the liberal moonbat mind there is nothing that a good stiff tax can't fix.

Good luck Chiraq.

We could institute a weasel tax on French politicians.

The signature block says it all.

Il n'y a pas d'honte être français. Il y a seulement l'honte dans rester de français.

Uh...there's just one little fact that the msm Leftist left out. NONE of the signatories to the Kyoto Accords have reduced their carbon emissions. The eeeevil USA, which did not sign it during BILL CLINTON'S presidency (and Hellery should be reminded of that fact constantly), has reduced its emissions by 14%. Be careful what you wish for, Jacques. We could put that carbon tax on all the stuff the European hypocrits ship over here, and double it on the French.

How about a "WEASEL TAX" as in every imbecilic socialist wanker (ISW) like Chirac must now pay a weasel tax. These ISWs consume far too much souffle, wine, brie, cognac, etc. relative to their complete lack of contributions to human progress. Let all the ISWs be taxed down to the point of poverty, and use the money for the US military. :^)

I propose an American Hero tax on France. It will be a yearly payment of $50 million per American Serviceman's grave inside France.
