I think we need to revise the term "RINO," or better yet, simply stop using it. It's become tiresome and meaningless, and tends to be used by many people who aren't Republicans themselves. Many on FR refer to McCain, Giulani, and Romney as "RINOs," and yet their combined support within the Republican Party is close to 75%. So, to claim that these three are all "Republican In Name Only" is a bit of a misnomer, don't you think?

I'm tired of Rep voters that stay home and give the election to Dem's because they're a one issue voter.

I can't understand someone not voting, either. That said, people should feel free to vote as they please and like it or not (unless there was massive fraud, which is another topic) the people voted and we have to live with it. Republicans and/or conservatives should not being pointing fingers and blaming others IMO, but really looking at why they were not invited back this year. While the brawl is going on and no one is watching , the enemy is is plotting.

The notion MT is becoming a BLUE state is ridiculous..

Burn lost to Tester by 3000 voters, he was corrupt, it was a bad GOP year, and the libertarian got 10,000 votes....Burns closed by accusing Tester of being a tax hiker...not an indication that MT will be going BLUE anytime soon

I agree with your analysis, and would just add that the wild card in the entire presidential election process is the Muslim jihad. For all the planning and scheming going on, not one candidate is willing to address the fact that the Muslim jihad has an agenda of it's own. That fact is what is keeping watching with a jaundiced eye from the sidelines. During Miss Coulter's appearance on O'Reilly last night, she used the phrase, "strong on terror". What does that mean now, more than 5 yrs. past 9/11?

Rudy is being considered because of his heroic actions during 9/11. I doubt he would be given a second thought without that cachet. How does a man who is pro-choice, pro-homosexual get to represent the Republican party? People see Rudy as a very strong national candidate. I see him as a great big city mayor not at all suited to the national stage. Lincoln Chaffee was a terrific mayor of a small city, he was a disaster in the Senate. In the "celebrity culture", Rudy is a rock star. We don't need a rock star to be the POTUS.

There was a posting here yesterday about Duncan Hunter's credentials. One of the items explained the Rep. Hunter set up a card table and stood in front of it for three days with his House checkbook laid out, in order to explain fully to any constituent that cared to ask about irregularities that were part of the House Banking scandal. Rep. Hunter was fully exonerated. I was impressed by this story. Did anyone other Congressman make himself available in such an open and honest way? I never heard about it.

Last summer, I barely recognized Duncan Hunter's name. I know more now, but realize that most East Coast people like me know even less. What I do know (mostly from this site) is that Duncan Hunter seems to be as solid as a rock. However, that is not to say (sadly) rock star.

I believe that there will be another attack on the United States by the Muslim jihadists, and it will be the homegrowns, much like the events in London yesterday. If that happens(I pray every day that I am wrong), there will be a new dynamic, there will be a completely different discussion on the necessary capabilities of a POTUS, and I believe if that happens, people like Duncan Hunter and other stalwarts would have much more of a voice in the national debate.

Hillary Clinton could not stand in front of the wreckage of buildings with a bullhorn and rally grief-stricken Americans. Obsama couldn't do it, either. They are political superstars, not leaders. Not fighters. If the next time comes, the fence sitters are not going to have the luxury of "choice". Rudy, John McCain, and Duncan Hunter may be different sorts of men, but each could stand before the carnage with a bullhorn and lead. My .02!

She voted in the wrong precinct in Florida so why would I pay any attention to what she has to say? Now they discovered that she gave the wrong information on her driver's license in new allegations. What happened to the Rule of Law or is that only for other people? I am sorry but I go after DemocRATs for doing things like this so I want Republicans to also obey the laws. I don't care who she supports -- her opinion means squat after this!

Newly added to the previously known allegations of Voter Fraud --- when Coulter used her realtor's address instead of her own on her Voter Registration Application --- is the allegation by the Palm Beach Police Department that Coulter seems to also have given that same, incorrect address when applying for a driver's license.

If you mean the NY Senate race he stepped down because of his diagnosis w/ prostate cancer. He sat out the election while he was receiving treatment (which is totally understandable).

I'm not yet sold on Rudy, but -- I'll take a crack at that question.

Because 'political conservatives' are for lower taxes, less govt intrusion into private lives, etc. All the 'Contract with America' stuff, if you remember that. 'Political conservatives' don't care about gays, would be pro-choice, etc. Which is why the contract didn't say a thing about those issues.

Political conservatives are the 'base' of the R party that gave them the 'Contract with America' win. If the 'Social Conservatives' who want govt control of social, personal issues like this are taking over the R party, then the R party doesn't stand a chance of winning in 08.

States you mention that are trending DEM are doing so because of an influx of moderates and liberals...many of them would vote for Rudy.....the question is why if Rudy is so destested is he leading for the GOP nomination...dont give me that "polls are wrong nonsense" the polls were dead on for 2006
