Introducing ABC weatherman Sam Champion, host Robin Roberts noted "everyone knows how passionate you are about global warming."
I'll say!
Champion was reporting on an upcoming global warming conference in Paris, and displayed the graphic shown here with various dire predictions. The chart speaks of water "scarcity," and people going hungry. Where ABC got its notion that billions might die Champion never told us. Hat tip to NB reader Marc Ben-Canaan

Billions will die of thirst? Crap like this is being reported more and more these days as REAL news. It's just absolutely insane. Whatever...I don't even care anymore. I'm just going to live my life and try to forget about all this other crap. The news media and all politicians can kiss the fattest part of my ass.

True, but you can only run around yelling, "The sky is falling" for so long. At some point, I need to see a chunk of sky flatten my neighbors' dog before I start carrying kevlar umbrella.
This kind of hysteria has a shelf life.
This is not actually true, according to NOAA: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/globalwarming/medieval.html.
The problem today is that populations in much of the developing world are extremely high (on the very edge of sustainability or beyond), and the vulnerability of these populations to changes in climate (whether or not human-caused) or to depletion of natural resources (such as paleowater) is high. European or North American populations are pretty safe, the problem is in places like India or subsaharan Africa -- but conditions are right for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to ride, in much of the world.
Global warming = A lie told often enough, is eventually accepted as the truth.
Can't die from something that is not happening!
Sam Champion might do well to shift his focus to the global AIDS problem, which threatens him more directly and is actually real.
Back in the early 70's we didn't die from the "coming ice age", so I believe we'll survive this hog wash, too.
