A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

The Mayor posted this link below for us on this past Friday's thread. It is so very special, I thought, if anyone missed his post, they could enjoy seeing this today.

Video Clip ~ Akiane

Akiane was born on July 9, 1994, in Mount Morris, Illinois, to the atheistic stay-at-home Lithuanian homemaker mother. Akiane is an artistic child prodigy, artist and poet. She started drawing at age4 and painting at age 6. Akiane says her inspiration comes from above.

I want my art to draw people's attention to God, I want my poetry to keep people's attention to God.- Akiane

When young Akiane's special gift was discovered, not much time passed before the humble 10-year-old was featured on Oprah, CNN, and other national media programs. Akiane began working in pastels when she was 5, and completed her first painting at 7.

"I wake up after I have had many dreams. I wake up and I pray, and then I see visions and I explain all those to my mom, and I say, 'This is what I want to paint.' And my mom says, 'I'll give you a canvass so you can paint it.'"From her dreams Akiane began to compose what she calls the "Jesus" paintings, which took her more than 75 hours to complete. She has so far painted two oils of Jesus. She calls the first one "The Prince of Peace," and the second is titled "Forgive Them, Father."

When asked how she knows that it's God who is speaking to her, she replies, "Because I can hear His voice. His voice is quiet and beautiful." Although she was 3 at the time, she'll always remember God's first message to her. "He said, 'You have to do this, and I'll help you.' He said, 'Now you can help people.' I said, 'Yes, I will.' But I said it in different words in my mind. I speak through my mind to Him."

Here are a few links for more information and to view Akiane's work.

This link takes you to the website which has Akiane's art work and when viewing the pictures in the gallery, you can read her poems.

I'm just today having the time to visit this thread in full and explore the links you gave us. I'm at Akiane.com and exploring her paintings now. I just came across this great quote - and there are oh so many great quotes from this little one! - and wanted to share it somewhere (:

Right after my eleventh birthday I visualized my self portrait through the view of a canvas and through the eyes of the spirit. I hoped to express the joy of co-creating, and the awe of feeling God's love and wisdom.
This quote accompanies her 11-year-birthday self-portrait. I am so taken with this way she has expressed what it is to be, to be human and an instrument of Almighty God in His Revelation to all mankind. O He Desires To Be Known!

O Gracious God and Father through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, so let us be such co-creators with Thee, making every use of every talent and spiritual gift Thou hast so graciously bestowed on us for Good. Your Purpose be accomplished in us and through us, O Lord, by Thy Wonder Working Power and for the Glory of Thy Name forever and ever, amen! This Our Joy !

I keep thinking of this verse:

"And a little child shall lead them." ~Isaiah 11:6b

Thank you for the reply! I've just been contemplating her painting "Blessing" and the words that go along with it!

Blessing

This painting is about gratitude in giving and receiving blessings.

Giant petals represent the events and years from the pages of our life book. Dew drops represent live blessings. A young child represents life itself, and the light represents the Creator of life.

Some petals seem to receive fewer blessings than others, but only the whole blossom reveals the meaning of life.

When we feel sad, all we need to do is to count our blessings, no matter how few we notice, so we can feel grateful for what we have been given.

Sadness soon disappears and, in return, we get inspired to bless others.

~Akiane

I've also just sent these links to a cousin (and sister in Jesus) of mine via email for encouragement - how could one not pass along such blessing?!

I'm so glad you did a whole thread for this child of God, this child prodigy! Thank you.

Thank you .30Carbine

I believe when I feel frustrated or down, I should visit her website. This is a beautiful painting. Her descriptions of her spiritual meanings of all her artwork is a blessing of it's own. Incredible gift.

I emailed her work to my sister. I feel the same as you, when I first saw The Mayor's link, I wanted to share her works of art/words with family and friends :)

This dear child has another flower painting she titled Growth, and this is what she writes about the human community the flower symbolizes:

The close up of a rose is a story of a close up of growth. And the petals represent the growth of different humans. We cannot grow on our own. We depend on one another, because God works through each of us. In order to grow into a blossom, one petal is not sufficient. We need one another.

Some of us grow like the petals leaning closer to each other, while others demand more space.

Some people reach out for others that are lower in growth. Others try to reach those that are higher.

Some try to crush others in anger and jealousy, and other petals look indifferent and turn their backs.

Many are unnoticeable, in a shade, and a few are in a bright spotlight with exposed veins of different growth paths.

Beautiful painting..
Akiane's words seem to say she sees the metaphorical value of the message..
And the metaphorical value of the dream(s) that inspired them(the paintings)..

Its Quite deep that a child could see metaphorical value and obscure meanings..
This child lends evidence to me that metaphor is the proper language for the spirit(s)..
Not crude words but metaphor.. which are a word painting of an idea(s)..
This child goes the next mile and converts metaphor into graphic art.. amazing ain't it..
Was inspired by her linking of her dreams to the paintings.. (her words/explanation)
Because dreams are indeed metaphorical manifestations, at least mine are..

Thank you dear sister for this ping.. I would have missed this for sure..
Could be ALL human children have this/an innate ability to relate to metaphor..
An adult could maybe connect them to an outlet to express the metaphors of their dreams..
-OR- limit their expressions to mere words.. grammar..

Thank you for your good and wise reply, dear FRiend. Indeed, this little child is calling up in me grand designs of God - she is doing the work of Jesus, and by this fruit we know Him in her. Oh such wonder, love, and praise!

As I've been exploring her Web site, all her works and words, it was impressed very strongly upon my spirit to pray for her protection from the evil one whatever manifestation and guile he may use: that murderer from the beginning must hate her very much.

Praise God that He who is in us is GREATER than he who is in the world, amen!

I have to buy a print with her writing along with it. I will have a tough time choosing one. Just brilliant how she can take a beautiful flower art she created and put so much meaning of in words. I also need to pick one out that inspires hope.(they all inspire hope ;) My mom is not well and I think it would be so very uplifting for her.
