Hospice Helps Dying Man Lose His Virginity

A young disabled man who receives care for his life-limiting illness at a hospice run by a nun spoke yesterday of his decision to use a prostitute to experience sex before he dies.

Sister Frances Dominica gave her support to 22-year-old Nick Wallis, who was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Sufferers usually die by their thirties.

Mr Wallis told staff at the Douglas House hospice in Oxford that he wanted to experience sexual intercourse. He explained that he had hoped to form an intimate and loving relationship with a woman, but his disability had acted as a barrier.

He told The Daily Telegraph: "It was a decision two years in the making and I discussed it with my carers and my parents. Telling my mother and father was the hardest part, but in the end they gave me their support.

A kiss becomes where the soul meets the lips. Intercourse becomes a leaving of yourself and a confluence with the beloved.

Beautiful. A chill went up my spine as I read those profoundly true words. Amen. The marriage ceremony element of the two candles lighting the one, then bride and groom blowing out their own candle in deference to the one--that is truly for the 'common good.'

Thank you, thank you very much. A cigar and a shot of Jack Daniels will do.

You know...I don't exactly approve of this, but I can't exactly criticize it either.

You really think the Good Lord is going to hold this against any of them? I think they showed love, compassion and mercy on a poor dying soul. Wow..

The Lutheran Church currently has a "study guide" on sexuality which involves a variety of dilemmas like this. The tension is always between the Law and the Gospel. The Law is God's statement of what he would have us do, and it does not change. The Gospel is His statement of what He has done for us. Under the Law this man would have pleased God to have entered heaven a virgin, since he did not have the benefit of Holy matrimony. The Gospel is the message of love and the gift of grace of a redeeming Lord. Both the Law and Gospel are essential parts of Christian faith. This situation could sustain a very interesting discussion, although probably not here, judging from most of the previous comments.

LOL!

I thought I would say shoes, because they likely do a fair bit of running.

But briefs, yes, lock em on!

But briefs, yes, lock em on!

What I had in mind was: "lock them family jewels in", many evil women around, G-d Forbid.

It's like good wine "not before time"!

The problem is; what a waste, it may turn into vinegar!

Yes, back in the days when a priest (or any male for that matter) could wrap his arm around a young male without everyone thinking the worst.

((sigh))

ROTFL

Well, not much vinegar around these days! But one thing I do know, hanging on to virginity as long as one can makes for an interesting fact. The pursuer has to be dedicated, strong and unrelenting, and usually , but not always, that means love is there.

So the fact is that the rule of no sex before marriage actually helps one find an appropriate mate. And even if sex happens before marriage, then there is usually still love, strength, appreciation and undertanding which can come from any resistance.

I was not much of a hold out, but then I consider myself very lucky in that respect in how things did turn out.

I think this is a decision the clergy will live with, maybe as a burden, for the remainder of their life/lives. It must have been a difficult decision for all concerned. I find no fault with anyone involved. I feel sure G-d loves all of them as much as before this situation happened.
