The Iraqi brothers over at "Iraq the Model" think it was an inside job. They have a good discussion about it.

The daring commando team also took an unclassified U.S. computer with them as they fled with the four soldiers

This sounds surprisingly like the German squads that infiltrated our lines at the Battle of the Bulge---many of them American born, perfect English-speakers.

"News" supplied by and AP "Iraqi Stringer" who probably is like that AP employee they arrest helping the terrorists make IEDs.

A little more cynicism rather then this mindless faith in the US "news" media is more then warranted here. Considering how many stories have turned out to be utterly fraudulent despite the AP byline, you would figure "Conservatives" would have wised up by now. MOST off what you hear from these "unnamed sources" is pure propaganda BS from the Terrorists. Quit being the Al Qeda PR domestic firm

Taking this crap seriously is like listening to Radio Berlin in 1943 to find out how the Allied war effort is going.

This kind of thing really could happen more often. Military uniforms are available on the internet. M16/M4 knockoffs aren't hard to come by. Learning a few key phrases in English can be done to perfection in a few days of practice. The only expensive part of the plan would be obtaining the right vehicles, and even that's very possible when you have Iranian or Saudi money in your pocket. As for the inside knowledge, well, Iraqis are in pretty tight with us these days. Just because they work with us doesn't mean they like us.

Our enemies aren't stupid. All they need is are resources, a little time and little luck to pull off hits like this.

Unless unconscious or critically wounded, I cannot imagine how anyone would allow themselves to be taken alive by these animals.

In high school, we had to watch Ohio State Highway Patrol films of auto accidents. That sure made me buckle up and pay attention.

Perhaps the military should require all service members and civilian contractors to periodically watch Ogrish video of what these animals do to captives.

I have great respect to the bloggers of IraqTheModel. But I think they got it wrong this time.
It's already been reported that the cars were found abandoned in a pro-Saddam Sunni neighborhood. This should be a clear clue that they are sunni insurgents (Al-Qaeda perhaps?).I can't see how the Mahdi militias could organize such an act, what with all these 7 expensive SUVs!
I thought it was reported that some of the culprits were caught. Why is it taking so long to identify them?

I must now assume that we are NEVER going to go to war. This PC WAR CRAP is getting our brave men and women KILLED.

Our leaders are cowardly, ignorant assholes and YES, I spelled it out.

I have had it!!!!!

Either go to war, go all out, or get out.
