Jimi Hendrix Energy Drink In Works

A new energy drink doesn't promise to give you the juice to play guitar like Jimi Hendrix, but it does hope to give you a "Liquid Experience."

Beverage Concepts says its nonalcoholic "Liquid Experience" drinks, named for Hendrix's breakthrough album, "Are You Experienced?" will debut in April.

The concept is irking some Hendrix fans, many of whom still consider him the greatest guitarist of all time.

"To see his image and the beautiful feelings it has created during my lifetime cheapened by base advertising ... is very disappointing to me," said bassist Michael Balzary, better known as Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The image of Hendrix, who died in 1970 from a drug overdose in London, has been licensed for products including baby clothing, an air freshener, lava lamp and a Christmas ornament. Portions of royalties have gone to several educational causes, including the United Negro College Fund, said Bruce Kuhlman, director of licensing and brand development for Authentic Hendrix, the Seattle-based company that controls use of Hendrix's name and images.

Beverage Concepts Chief Executive Josh Glass said his company would honor Hendrix's memory by donating some of the profit from the Liquid Experience to an unidentified music education foundation.

Oh yeah, another thing...How many people out there know that Jimi has a brother named Leon who plays guitar and is still playing out there today? This is not his half brother, but his full brother. For years I never knew there was another Hendrix. Here`s his website:

Janie Hendrix continues to pimp her brother's leagacy.

She's the worst thing that could have happened to Hendrix and his body of work.

Do you Drink it, Smoke it, or Inject it?

You set it on fire and smash the bottle on the floor.

Good Morning IndyLindy,
When the facade of hendrix was de-cloaked in reality he was nothing, but a coward who used a phoney homosexuality venue to be discharged for the Army.
He was a coward like Ali, who refused to serve his country when called upon.
The bootlickers of these two should face the real truth they(hendrix&ali) were Zero's not Hero's.
Hendrix metaphorically speaking is probably hanging out "along the watchtower" tripping on purple haze. Ali is having nightmares about getting knocked on his ass by Henry Cooper and Dundee not stopping the fight, claiming the laces on one of ali's glove was untied.
I will conclude my sermon on the alleged heros'-zeros' of the left (Losers)
P.S. I agree wholeheartedly with you, the drink probably is lethal.
Respectfully Your's

Yep I still run into Henry Cooper fans from England every once and a while. Clay said he slipped and it was not a knockdown. The film shows otherwise.

Red Bull give you wings, but this stuff will leave tire tracks all across your back.

And railroad tracks on your arms?

Hello, all this is giving me ideas. How about LIBERAL KOOL AID? Comes in various flavors like Purple Haze Grape, Incense, Peppermints Pink, Good day Sunshine Yellow.

So you like boxing. My hubby has some of the great matches on tape. He's a big fan and I watch!

"...a coward who used a phoney homosexuality venue to be discharged for the Army."

Hmmm, I heard it was a shattered ankle from a jump (Airborne, where he met Billy Cox).

Just as an aside, Jimi Hendrix played guitar with Little Richard , until Little Richard fired him. Said he was "too wild."

[Actually, I heard that he was dischaged for a broken ankle too.]

Ok, I've got to ask it (to everyone):
Besides, of course "Electric Ladyland", what is your favorite Hendrix album?

I've always been partial to "Cry of Love" but some say I'm out of my mind (for other reasons, as well)

The man was kicked out of the army for being gay, and would join his body guards in beating white women with bricks who didn't find him attractive.

Good Morning Psalm 73,
Hendrix made the statemenet to his commanding officer that he was having homosexual tendencies towards members oh his chain of command. Homo tendencies was a sure way out of the military back in those days.
Draft-dodger coward in chief Klinton initiated the "don't ask don't tell" policy which reflects on his slimey character as well.
Please let me add that Jack Kennedy was once an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy, but was relieved of duty for having an affair with an "East German"(female) spy.
When Jack boy became commander of PT Boat 109, he and his crew were drunk when PT Boat 109 got run over(cut in half) by a Japanese destroyer.
Kennedy allegedly rescued some of his men and instead of being court martialed for "Dereliction of Duty". Jack boy with his father's connections, emerged unscathed and a recognized false military hero.
This is just an example of the hero(s) of the left and their zero capabilities as true patriots.
Patriotically Your's

Morning IndyLindy,
Yes I do enjoy boxing and I like the truth of what really happens in a match. Clay versus Cooper was just an example how the left will use any means to prop up a false hero.
I figured the left wingers would produce a new wine called (Dolly Dagger)"when one ingests a drop or inhales its fumes, you will begin to stagger".
Take care and keep up those good ideas.
Always,

"Hendrix made the statemenet to his commanding officer..."

OK, I didn't hear that one.
Sadly, it seems most highly talented/creative people are loony-tunes to boot.
Does not mean, though, that we cannot still enjoy their "creations".
Hendrix was a pagan ("Voodoo Chile" by his own account), and pagans as such aren't known for their virtuousness.
Not surprised that Patti Smith would use heroin and shack up with a homosexual, not surprised that Hemingway would drink himself to oblivion and blow his brains out.
I still like to read Hemingway and listen to Hendrix, though.
Reminds me of the day Joe Strummer (The Clash) died - even though he was a socialist through-and-through - quite a few very conservative writers mourned his loss in National Review's Online Blog (The Corner).
