A soldier based in Iraq got this response when inquiring as to whether or not the company ships overseas. He wanted to get the troops better gear to sleep on.
To Whom it may concern:
Do you ship to APO addresses?
I'm in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for who ships to APO first.

SGT Hess,
We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq.
If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

Looks legit, unfortunately. FBI and IRS.gov came up empty. Haven't called the number yet.

Could you post to us if Belling figures out if this is all legit?
I'd hate to be part of an email attack on this business if the whole thing is a hoax!

So, call/click, call/click, call/click would be a bit of civil disobedience?
Very interesting... If I was a federal investigator, I think I would want to look into this company and its finances. I wonder where some of the company profits go? Maybe just "peaceful" middle east organizations?

"If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq."
And if you were sensible, Faisal, you and your entire family including in-laws would pull out of the US of A and go to wherever you belong.
Bon voyage!
And when you complain to VeriSign, you might want to include the fact that on discount-mats.com's web site, the icon for VeriSign links to a discount-mats.com page. FRAUD?
Not really.
I just copied and pasted the story and the facts of the company and emailed them all my friends, who in turn will forward the email to their friends..... I don't know if it helps but I like to know about companies like this. The company was rude in it's reply. I don't like rude people so in turn I won't do business with them. I also don't like to see a soldier's request being treated like this was. It makes me wonder about this company and the owners. I support our troops and if my company didn't ship overseas, I would find some way possible to do it even if I had to go to out of my way. ~~Pandora~~
Different phone number for repairs, Iowa. Also doesn't ship APO.
Sub7 time?
Like quantim said upthread, a Fed Tax ID number for this bozo would enable a craprain from FReepers.
I was going to 800-phone-bomb the jerk (and you thought PC dialup was outdated!), but, if, as you say, the scooter shop is a legitimate bidness, I'd only be creating collateral damage. Chances are this dickweed is just the most internet-savvy of a going concern involving several families.
Still, he must go down, and must go down hard.
I wonder if this 'business' owner gave donations to the john kerry campaign in 2004? Or to democrat candidates from Wisconsin in 2006? Might be interesting to find out if someone here has access to that info.
This is beyond low. Looks like a project for the Levinites.
I wouldn't mind my original idea of repeated Hook Flashes to the 800 number (as it costs the recipient per call), but buried within some old statute is probably a proscription for such activity, and FR cannot officially advocate such.
We'll need all creative heads in on this one.
Looks like someone in the jerk's family got a degree in bioengineering at taxpayer expense:
