Well, at SI I would have suggested every staff member involved in putting out the NFL Preview Issue back in September.

I hope Peter King and Don Banks are still writing for SI, two of my favorite sports writers.
Although if they did get the ax, I expect they would have little difficulty finding work elsewhere.

No, no not Dr. Z too. (Even though he couldn't predict a Globetrotters game, I still like him.)

I had a doctor appointment the other day, and I picked up a copy of Time in his waiting room.
Then I remembered the wise words from one of my old professors who told me "Cliff Notes are for people who can't read for themselves. Time and Newsweek are for people who can't think for themselves."
So I put the magazine down and spent the rest of my waiting time checking out the nurses, trying to stay away from the sick people who came in, and trying not to pass gas... ;)

In a prepared statement, Time Inc. Editor-in-Chief John Huey said: "It's important that we on the editorial side fully understand what that means and what it doesn't mean.
"First let, me stress that these layoffs are not about performance of the individuals involved; the layoffs are about restructuring our editorial staffs as we move quickly into a future of flexible, multiplatorm content creation. Time loves semicolons; it's what they do best.
To: randog
The news mags are all doomed. The news sections are very outdated by Internet standards and the snide liberal crap is insulting (See Newsweak's Conventional Wisdom section - in the bubble lefty crap).

Maybe they can continue to cheap shot and backstab the military, the country, the WOT, GWB, and appease and victimize muslims. Then they could just fire everyone.

I'm trying to think of something nice to say about them losing their jobs As Thomas Sowell would put it - their skills and labor can now be put to more efficient use for the economy in general.

the individuals involved; the layoffs are about restructuring our editorial staffs as we move quickly into a future of flexible, multiplatorm content creation. And I love reading mindless corporate jargon in these announcements - the more of it there is, the faster the company is swirling around the drain.
OTOH, he didn't use "synergy" or "paradigm" in this statement, so we still have work to do.
