The Origin of Man (Combating Darwinism)
Darwinism Refuted ^ | Harun Yahya

Posted on 01/18/2007 1:00:43 PM PST by scottdeus12

Darwin put forward his claim that human beings and apes descended from a common ancestor in his book The Descent of Man, published in 1871. From that time until now, the followers of Darwin's path have tried to support this claim. But despite all the research that has been carried out, the claim of "human evolution" has not been backed up by any concrete scientific discovery, particularly in the fossil field.

The man in the street is for the most part unaware of this fact, and thinks that the claim of human evolution is supported by a great deal of firm evidence. The reason for this incorrect opinion is that the subject is frequently discussed in the media and presented as a proven fact. But real experts on the subject are aware that there is no scientific foundation for the claim of human evolution. David Pilbeam, a Harvard University paleoanthropologist, says:

If you brought in a smart scientist from another discipline and showed him the meagre evidence we've got he'd surely say, "forget it; there isn't enough to go on."

How about just starting at Genesis 1:1 and moving forward, word by word.

We'll get to Genesis 4:1-2.
"Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant" is not confusing. Read literally, and assuming that the world works precisely as we have always seen it works, we know what that means. When we say in modern English "He slept with her", we know it means the same thing that King James' English meant when it said "we lay with her". Nothing remotely confusing about it, and no miraculous claim here either that would cause us to doubt that the text means something else.

--(and planets, which are just called "stars")--

Why, then, were they called stars when they were planets?

--Our radiotelescopes, when they reach the edge of creation, should find a solid wall of some sort, with water beyond. In all directions.
That's Genesis. --

Genesis says nothing about a solid wall.

Common descent is so firmly established, that even the Intelligent Designers and many creationists accept it. Get with the program!

That statement is flatly untrue. In fact, if you will read it, you will see it's really quite silly. Either you know it and are lying, or you don't know it and are ignorant. Your more intelligent cohorts on this subject are careful not to make such statements (except Coyoteman, who is not real bright.)

Why is that, precisely, that the discussion has ended?

Jesus told people a lot of things they didn't want to hear, because they preferred to believe otherwise. That is precisely what I will do with you, using the Scripture, carefully reading it, applying the normal meaning of words.

You compared me to a murderer of Christians. At that point I would have been well within my rights to say "The discussion has ended." But why should I? I have nothing to fear. The text says what it says, and what it says is important, because it is the inspired Word of God.

You have ended the discussion because you insulted me and I answered back in a way which alarmed you. And indeed if you stayed and read with me, you would be very much more alarmed too, and want to run away with each passing sentence and phrase.

You misread Genesis. You prefer your TRADITION of what it means over what it actually says. If the discussion is ended it is because you have ended it.

You are afraid of what you will see.
And you should be.

genetics now proves beyond any doubt that humans are apes.

Well, at least cousins. Heck anyone with an open mind could tell that just by looking at them, and us.

My 20 month old, granddaughter has spontaneously "signed", "gorilla" when she sees me. She knows. :)

Of course there is a lot more evidence than that.

God works his wonders in mysterious ways, evolution appears to be one of His tools. Quantum mechanics and something akin to General Relativity seem to be others.

There is far less evidence for the Exodus than there is for the chain of human evolution.

Are you denying that some IDers and some creationists accept common descent?

First you said it was floodgates and now you say it is windows.

Why do they say rain when it was not rain?

Garbage and nonsense indeed: The Fossil Record extends back some 3.8 Billion years or more, clearly indicating linear, increasingly complex development of lifeforms from pre-biotics to prokaryotes and from thence in logical, time-ordered progression across the eons to the present day.

You don't know much about ID, do you. The ID'ers believe in evolution, common descent and some say that God may be dead. (BEHE).

--"Intelligent Design" is neither intelligent or a design.--

But apparently some find it financially rewarding.

ID: All present life on earth evolved by common ascent from ancient molecular life over billions of years.
