- KGO - Members of a renowned choral group from Yale University were attacked outside a New Year's Eve party in San Francisco, sending several of them to the hospital.
Now the police department is coming under fire for its handling of the case.
This does not look good for the city. Yale sends its popular singing group, The Baker's Dozen, on a holiday concert tour.
And San Francisco sends the young men away bloody, bruised, and several of them seriously injured.
Laura Aziz sent her son, Sharyar, off on a concert tour with one of Yale University's singing groups -- he came to San Francisco over New Year's.
The Baker's Dozen are a 58-year tradition at Yale. They've put out two dozen albums and toured the country, with appearances at the White House and Los Angeles Lakers games...
Reno Rapagnani, Retired SFPD Lawyer: "I had given strict orders to my daughter that if anything got out of hand that the party would be over."
The trouble started at midnight after The Baker's Dozen sang "The Star Spangled Banner." Witnesses say a few local young men didn't appreciate the attention the Yale students were getting, made fun of their conservative dress and began taunting them and making threats.

That the singers got taunted for dressing and acting conservatively is a small, if poignant, detail. This is a tale of sons of power perhaps skating on a crime.
sounds like a its going to democrats wet dream. Unions doing the cleanup which means it will take 3 times as long and as 3 times more expensive. Dems getting kickbacks from the unions for re-elections. Lots of pandering to the environmental wackos.
"Bagdad by the Bay"
Hopefully, the police are doing work to make the charges stick...and not a cover-up.
I don't understand, this is San Fransisco, aren't those labels of honor?
Of course, the back story here is a prominent, and probably rich, former Police Department Lawyer had a party for his daughter, in which he was able to invite a prestigeous 12-person choir to perform, along with children of other prominent local officials -- and he had no control over his party. The liberal rich -- all money, spent in self-indulgence, with no responsibility or concern for how others are effected by their greed and selfishness.
Would this lawyer and friends not stick up for the invited choir ?
SF...just another reason NOT to go there...
that fixed it!
So many families with children have left SF that the schools have a big problem.
The school boards are trying to justify keeping nearly empty buildings open.
Then the teacher's union gets upset that they may lose some of their union dues
yea, well I'm down in OC and most everyone we know down here is home schooling their children.
Even the Catholic schools down here have something to be desired since the nuns are history.
oh and don't forget...the Lefties have been aborting their children for a generation while the Conservatives have been raising theirs...so look for Calif and the rest of the country to continue to become more conservative.
Home schooling is a good thing.
There are many networks that also increase the educational experience for the kids
and not just sports
The left loves to abort their children.
Of course, many of the same sex people never reproduce.
We'll see. San Francisco is very corrupt and elitist, and the SFPD has a very poor record of getting to the bottom of cases involving people who are "connected".
The key words here are "Police Department Lawyer". These folks are part of the SFPD "family" and they've got to live here as well. They will do enough to create some plausible deniability and then perhaps let it go at that. The leading perps are the sons of a prominent San Francisco physician, and also the SFPD has thus far shown itself poorly. Something has got to give. I think justice for the victims might be determined least important here.
Thanks.
I hope that we can put enough pressure on this that Fox News then puts even more pressure on the SFPD.

Conservatives have not aborted theirs, but they have one or maybe two. Muslims average six per family. Mark Steyn gives Europe, what, five or ten years before it's majority Muslim? Here, give it just a few more. Mosques going up in all major cities. Conservatives don't abort, but they are barely reproducing. The world will not be liberal in another generation, but it will certainly be different.

Fox News may cover this soon ?
