Yale Choir Assaulted; No Arrests By SFPD ( Choir sang The Star Spangled Banner )

- KGO - Members of a renowned choral group from Yale University were attacked outside a New Year's Eve party in San Francisco, sending several of them to the hospital.

Now the police department is coming under fire for its handling of the case.

This does not look good for the city. Yale sends its popular singing group, The Baker's Dozen, on a holiday concert tour.

And San Francisco sends the young men away bloody, bruised, and several of them seriously injured.

Laura Aziz sent her son, Sharyar, off on a concert tour with one of Yale University's singing groups -- he came to San Francisco over New Year's.

The Baker's Dozen are a 58-year tradition at Yale. They've put out two dozen albums and toured the country, with appearances at the White House and Los Angeles Lakers games...

Reno Rapagnani, Retired SFPD Lawyer: "I had given strict orders to my daughter that if anything got out of hand that the party would be over."

The trouble started at midnight after The Baker's Dozen sang "The Star Spangled Banner." Witnesses say a few local young men didn't appreciate the attention the Yale students were getting, made fun of their conservative dress and began taunting them and making threats.

questions regarding how police handled the incident. No arrests have been made.

They need more SFPD officers like him.

As I recall, he got P.O.'d about how PC the force was becoming THEN and finally pitched his badge. I think it was the one where the guy hijacked the bus full of kids.

According to the article, a son of a prominent SF pediatrician was the one who was most agressive and called for his Sacred Heart "homies" to come beat up the Yalies. Something is staying the hand of the police... I wonder whether the Bakers Dozen pressed charges...

That the choir sang The Star Spangled Banner and then got beat up says lots about the SF homies.

That the SF police will ( apparently ) not arrest the known thugs is double special.

Singing the Star Spangled Banner outside of the American Zone can be dangerous.

Her husband ''just happens'' to own a big chunk of land which used to belong to the Federal Government (us taxpayers): Hunters Point Naval Shipyards.

Her protégé, Gavin Newsom, current Mayor of San Francisco, is trying to strike up a deal where the San Francisco 49ers will get that land and stay in the city, rather than moving to Santa Clara and building a new stadium down there.

But there seems to be some problem with the Naval shipyard being a Superfund cleanup site.

Stand by for developments as the blinkless wonder simultaneously cleans up corruption in the Senate, and finds a way around this ''Inconvenient Truth.''

They don't call San Fransicko "Bagdad by the Bay" for nothing, folks! I should know. I've lived there for years and can't WAIT to leave it.
