US accused of new Somali air strikes
Herald Sun ^ | 11 January 2007 | Ali Musa Abdi and Mustafa Haji Abdinur

SOMALI officials today accused the US of launching new air strikes on suspected al-Qaeda sites in southern Somalia, but Washington denied carrying out any further strikes amid doubt over the results.

As concern grew about the impact of the first overt US military intervention into the lawless country since the early 1990s, officials said it was unclear if strikes that began on Monday had hit their targets.

In the capital Mogadishu, senior Somali officials said US aircraft staged new raids, a day after Washington confirmed Monday's air strike aimed at senior al-Qaeda operatives believed hiding there.

"There were more air strikes by the United States and they shall continue until terrorists are eliminated from that part of Somalia,'' Somali Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Aidid said.

A second top Somali official said areas "suspected of being hideouts for the Islamists and their foreign fighters'' were hit, although a Pentagon official in Washington denied knowledge of any new strikes.

"I'm only aware of the one attack,'' a US official familiar with the Somalia operation said in Washington.

In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said eight "terrorists'' were killed and five wounded and captured in a US airstrike.

Mr Zenawi urged the US "not to expand the scope of their action in Somalia. Let our troops on the ground deal with the situation".

"SOMALI officials today accused the US of launching new air strikes on suspected al-Qaeda sites in southern Somalia,"

So? These effers want to die for Allah, live in caves, and abuse small boys and goats. We want to help them with their first goal. As many as possible! And besides, we got some bones to pick with them over "Blackhawk Down."

The title says "accused" but the text of the article implies that the attacks were welcomed. Typical liberal media BS.

So, is there some reason why they put Ali Musa Abdi and Mustafa Haji Abdinur on this story? Why not just settle for Baghdad Bob?

I swear, over the last few weeks the MSM must have hired several hundred Muslim reporters. They're everywhere.

The government is denying a new attack. I wonder if this is one of those special secret operations where we send in our guys like Mission Impossible and they can really stomp the AHs without the wieners crying about not getting a subpoena?
