Mass. gets its first black governor, and the first Dem to be elected to that office since Dukakis in '86. If you liked Pee Wee, you'll love Urkel.
Wow, My typing stinks about as bad as Pelosi and Dingy Harry thinking they own the country lock, stock and barrell.
So what was the rabbi's speech (invocation?) like? Howie mentioned it a bit, but I didn't catch the original.
This call just answered my last question.
Job training... midnight basketball... sentencing reform... KUMBAYA!
Neither did I (rabbi's speech)
btw, Howie just said death pool is tomorrow
poll below (btw Finneran has been considered for a WRKO
talk show slot!)
F, I, double N, E
R, A, N spells Finneran...
FINNERAN
Former Massachusetts House speaker Thomas M. Finneran, in an agreement that will allow him to avoid prison time, will plead guilty tomorrow to obstruction of justice in exchange for federal prosecutors' dropping perjury charges against him, according to two sources familiar with the deal.
Should he get jail time?
Yes 91%
No 9%
FROM BOSTON RADIO WATCH
Developing : WRKO pursuing Finneran for AM drive
Boston Herald's website is reporting this afternoon that Entercom's talker WRKO AM 680 is still very much interested in hiring former speaker of Mass. House of Representatives speaker Tom Finneran. Negotiations are still on-going between Finnearan and WRKO. However, the Herald's report states that Finneran is seeking a morning-drive slot and not, as earlier reported, the vacant early midday slot(9am-12pm) previously held by John DePetro. It's not clear whether Finneran would become a co-host with the current morning driver Scott Allen Miller or would become station's new solo AM-drive personality.
Arbitron's winter survey period begins next Thursday(1/11) and market's two fulltime talkers - WRKO and WTKK - are in the process of putting together and rolling out their new line-ups. WTKK 96.9FM has already announced this week(BRW 1/3) that will unveil its reshuffled all-live&local morning and afternoon line-up starting on Monday(1/8). Depending on how much longer the Finneran negotionations take, WRKO should also be announcing its revamped line-up any day now. WRKO will also become a new Red Sox flagship in April and its weekday night-time schedule, except for Wednesdays, will be taken up by sports.
Deval has a nice voice and everything, but even in the bits Howie's playing, his voice just goes by in waves and nothing he said leaves an impression. Weird.
Good news indeed. They shouldn't have hired the fraud in the first place. What amazes me is that they're giving Eagan & Braude more time again. Does WTKK think the dippy Duo are going to do better this time around? And why?
As the Talking Heads once put it, "(he's) talking a lot but (he's) not saying anything. Say something once. Why say it again?" And didn't James Brown once sing about "Just Talkin'
trash and sayin' nothin'?"
meanwhile, "breaking news" from Herald. And remember folks
the guy being mentioned in this web piece is the subject of a Howie poll that has 91 per cent of respondents saying he should be in jail! :)
I don't much care for Scotto, but this still seems like shabby treatment.
Someone on a radio-interest mailing list says that the likes of Barnicle and Franken being on air is not due to their
(lack of) talent but because they're a "marquee" name
that attracts attention to the station. Right.
Fung Wah is Chinese for "The Bus Is On Fire"
Howie's ONLINE EXCLUSIVE column on Herald site. Read Howie's full column tomorrow.
My choice for a nickname for Deval Patrick is "Devil" Patrick! Each time that I do a spellcheck, "Devil" always comes up as one of the substitute words for "Deval".
Deval could be in the U.S. Senate even sooner if Senator Kennedy ends up dying before '08.
Or are they GUESTS
Devil's name must have wide acclaim.
Maybe you know this already, but Howie said today more than once that the Death Pool will be held tomorrow.
breaking news from Herald
The family of the elderly Leominster woman raped and sodomized by Benjamin LaGuer is demanding Gov. Deval Patrick make it his first order of business to apologize to them for trying to help LaGuer clear his name.
The new administration is very insensitive to victims, charged Bob Barry of Worcester, the now-deceased victims son-in-law. We feel that (Patrick) doesnt get it about real families and real crime.
In an ill-timed turn of events for the freshly minted governor, LaGuers latest appeal to have his conviction for the brutal 1983 assault on the then 59-year-old woman jettisoned based on fingerprint evidence that neither the defense nor prosecutors knew about was heard this morning by the Supreme Judicial Court prior to Patricks inauguration.
Barry said of Patrick, He probably wishes he never got involved with Benjamin LaGuer.
True...Teddy's liver could implode at any time.
