Iraqi TV is now showing edited footage of the execution of Saddam.
They may have been humane and drugged him up a bit.
If so, that's far more humane than he ever was.
I think that says a great deal about the President's lack of "blood lust" and his ability to put the matters of running the country first.
It's just a normal day of biz as usual for our fine Prez, in a world with one less brutal tyrant and murderer.
Marking this thread.
I'm concerned.
That narrow fenced in area he was standing in could have caused him to hit his 'funny bone' on the way down.
That's gotta hurt.
Specifically, where is that exhortation?
S&A, ping me if you find the video. Must see TV.

Did the US have someone there to witness?
I didn't know that, but if you've read any of Kozinski's other books smut, it wouldn't be surprising.
Believe me, there's a tv in the bedroom, and we all wanted to make sure that it was finished. It's not bloodthirsty. God only forgives us when we forgive others. So let God handle the vengeance, now that He has him. There is no way we could avenge these attrocities, so we send Him to God, who can. And believe me when I say God is just. He will not give Saddam one ounce more or less of eternal agony than he deserves. He is now experiencing the pain that all his victims endured. I'm glad God is doing it for us. He's the only one good enough to do it, and not be warped by it.

I don't know for certain but I suspect yes after reading this report here
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/1229saddam29-ON.html
"Al-Nueimi (an Iraqi official) said U.S. authorities were maintaining physical custody of Saddam to prevent him from being humiliated before his execution. He said the Americans also want to prevent the mutilation of his corpse, as has happened to other deposed Iraqi leaders."
How would you conclude that these are members of the Iraqi Army? They could be some kind of special security force with the executive branch or the judiciary. They could be policemen or prison guards. I'm not saying one way or the other, I don't know. I will say, whatever they were, IF they are normally uniformed, they did the right thing by not wearing them, just as they did by hooding their faces.
Thanks, good enough for me, i'm sure we'd have someone there to see it through. Also, there is probably a complete video out there somewhere.
FReeper quote of the day. You hit multiple points here. Great job.
The knot popped him on the cheek.
AMEN Preach on Brother\Sister.
I just logged on to my AOL and they had a CNN video of the hanging. He WAS NOT hooded. The only thing is they did not show him dropping. They cut the video off after the noose was put around his neck.
