Scripture clearly exhorts against rejoicing at an enemy's fall-

Specifically, where is that exhortation?

C'mon, TR. You can justify anything with a thrice translated bible verse.

I'm no bible scholar, but I do have the internet, so let me try:

Context? I dunno. Application to this situation? I have no clue.

But just one search, and now I ain't gotta go to church tomorrow! Can you believe that something Algore invented would help distribute the Word of God? Lord works in mysterious ways and means, eh? =)

Well it is not here....

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance... So that men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth." Ps. 58:10-11

KJV:

Proverbs 24:17
Rejoice not when [your] enemy falls, and let not [your] heart be glad when he stumbles:

17-18 Don't laugh when your enemy falls;
don't crow over his collapse.
God might see, and become very provoked,
and then take pity on his plight.

17Rejoice not when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles or is overthrown,

I don't always manage strict adherence . . . but I try to say and think only along the lines of:

Praise God. Blessed be the Name of The Lord. The Lord gives and The Lord takes away.

Somebody may already have answered your query, but just in case, here is one verse (there are several):

Proverbs 24:17 (NIV)
Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice...
