A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
A local business was looking for office help. They put a sign in the window, stating the following: "HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer."
A short time afterwards, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined.
Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised, to say the least. However, the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager.
The manager said, "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type." The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair. The manager was stunned, but then told the dog, "The sign says you have to be good with a computer."
The dog jumped down again and went to the computer. The dog proceeded to demonstrate his expertise with various programs and produced a sample spreadsheet and database and presented them to the manager. By this time the manager was totally dumb-founded! He looked at the dog and said, "I realize that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I still can't give you the job."
The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentences that told about being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The manager said, "Yes, but the sign also says that you have to be bilingual."
The dog looked at him straight in the face and said.......
"Meow!"
Have a great day...and keep smiling!!!!!

Hi, dutchess! This one just keeps on making me smile, and love that you used Rusty to illustrate. That one sitting in the chair staring at us is priceless! MEOW! Who knew he could speak more than one language!

Rest In Peace, President Gerald R. Ford Amen. I haven't seen much TV lately - assume he is getting the same respect and coverage from the media as all of our other former presidents.

Not to belabor the point, but I think President Ford's Naval Service deserves a more dignified post than I gave it before:
Ah, very nice. Job well done!!!!

Hi Billie. Rusty is quite the ham in front of a camera. We had a photographer over for our family Christmas. Can't wait to see how our pictures with Rusty and Giz came out! P.S. Thanks for your help last night! Am ready to start reformatting the weekend thread. (blood pressure rising, panic setting in :o) )

Thanks for the reminder of a great unsung hero.
I'll second that. Only I am so disgusted the way the media is going giddy about President Ford dissing the war to Bob Woodwood. I for one question whether things said are being taken out of context given Woodwood's history.
