>>>President Bush really made a mistake when he failed to fumigate the NSA, CIA and FBI after he took office.<<<

Look for President Bush's "New Tone" approach to continue, and continue to fail. It should be apparent to all by now that he is too ignorant to realize that when you appease mean and arrogant people they get more mean and arrogant -- more evil. I cannot recall a single instance where appeasement of evil people changed their ways for the better; yet Bush seems to thinks he can change them by being nice to them -- by "turning the other cheek".

James wrote that we should resist the devil (James 4:7). Jesus not only resisted the devil (Matthew 4:10 "Get thee hence, Satan"), but rebuked the Devil's children (John 8:44 "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it"). It is time for President Bush to follow Christ and his disciples, and resist and rebuke the evil of the left.

You can't fire them simply because they are Clinton supporters. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO DO SO!

It seems that I have to repeat this about evey 2 months, because someone thinks President Bush should have fired all Clinton supporters when he took office. HE COULDN'T DO IT! He got rid of the political appointees, but career people are protected by civil service laws, and should the President have tried to fire people simply because of political affiliation, he would have been immediately impeached.

Can't we reboot the Federal Government?

...or boot them out all together?

" Um, I suggest everyone go read the article instead of basing everything on a single sentence."

I did. And you are correct.
What looked at first to be FBI incompetence may be hysteria from the ACLU and the media.
The files pertain to closed investigations, not those currently being investigated by the Alexandria grand jury.
Might also be the result of the record keeping mess.

" Over the past decade, the FBI has waged an epic struggle to computerize and automate its records systems.
The agency abandoned a $170 million "Virtual Case File" project last year after years of Congressional hearings and critical evaluations led to the conclusion that the system would never be implemented successfully."

Or it might be the FBI "losing " documents temporarily to keep them away from the reporters and members of Congress.
As apparently they did in the 60s , according to one historian.
A federal judge ordered the FBI to produce the files in response to a reporter's inquiry into leak case prosecutions.
The FBI said they have other ways of finding the files and do not believe that they are totally lost.

We know that there are lib groups filing FOI papers all the time to "get stuff" on President Bush..

Now we find a group that is filing FOI papers...and some of the files that are about leaks AGAINST the Bush Administration, and we are to sit back and say, "oh, well"???

What a bunch this is. Well they lose classified material all the time by letting people like Burger just walk with it. And then the prosecution is only a slap on the hand. The big question is why. I guess this investigation material wasn't classified so they feel free to just lose it. Unbelievable! And I don't!

he could have done far more then he did, like firing all US attorneys on day one. and its those political appointees, that reign in the out of control career people - who make sure they have assignments where they can not do these things, and when they do - actually prosecute them for it.

Thank you. Hysteria in the media and ACLU is to be expected, but it seems we're seeing more and more of it right here on Freerepublic.

Here's the portion of the article that refers to that:

"These are very sensitive investigations. ... They could be called to account for whether they are monitoring reporters. These are records that should be handled very well."

And the Department of State as well. State has been a center of anti-Americanism for a long time--beginning with Communists during the Roosevelt era, continuing to the liberal/lefties who staff it today.

If our intelligence officials can't find leakers, then we're in deep doo doo. Any Clinton lover or Liberal traitor that leaks information, should spend the best years of their lives in JAIL. They're traitors to our country.

But he did not need to continue Norman Mineta, that wonderful Secretary of Transportation who gave us "random" security inspections of children, the elderly, military personnel in uniform, to avoid "profiling Moslems" which might have hurt their feelings, the poor dears. </sarcasm>
