A CNBC News Alert streaming across the bottom of the screen stated the following, more or less, about 3 PM: "Senator Remains in Coma. Condition Still Critical."
The link above is to CNBC's news web page. The item did not appear there, but I thought I would put in the link in case an item on this later appears as news.
How can he be a Seantor, when he's in a coma? Same as the other 99.........
If he was GOP he'd be signing his resignation with a mystery signature.
Right you are.
When this type of illness occurs, you are usually put into a coma in order for your brain to heal.
As a human being I pray for him and his family. This is a tragic situation no matter what his politics are.
Sad but true.
susie
The Senator may be in much worse shape than we think. In any other case, the buzzards would be haunting the hospital, the docs would be giving pressers, etc.
The dem powers have told them to shut up and are telling the family what to say. They want their power and nothing is going to get in their way.
That's what I figured.
Rest assured, they will keep blood flowing through his body via any machine available for at least two more years. He will remain a Senator as long as he is needed.
well at least he looks good
The WP article on the 16th listed him as "resting"?? As in comatose??

WASHINGTON, Dec 21 (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson remains in critical condition and is being kept sedated to aid his recovery from brain surgery last week, according to doctors statements released by his office on Thursday.
"Sen. Tim Johnson is recovering as expected from brain surgery and his brain pressures continue to be in the normal range," said Dr. Anthony Caputy of the George Washington University Hospital department of neurosurgery.
"Sen. Johnson is sedated to allow his systems to rest and recover from the hemorrhage and we anticipate no further tests or procedures in the near future," said neurosurgeon Vivek Deshmukh. "This is expected to continue through the holidays." ... ...
The dims will stuff him with cotton and prop him up in his office if it comes to that. No way in hades are they going to just give up that office.
According to Reid, he looks GREAT! Right after brain surgery.
Once again a cartoonist nails down the fundamental difficulty the Democrats have in dealing with life.
If he's in a coma, he can't vote. Cheney would still be the tiebreaker. The only advantage to the Dems would be control of the comittees. (I think)
"How can he be a Seantor, when he's in a coma?"
I'm not sure I see the problem...
Yeah... but he looks great according to Harry Reid.
