I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.
Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.
I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.
So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.
Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!
Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.
Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

Your situation makes me very sad as it recalls memory of my own mother’s passing just a few years ago, but I include those sad hours among the most blessed in my life.
Your mother’s decision is a true testament to her faith and her faith will be her salvation. May she rest peacefully in the coming days and may you and your family chreish these precious moments with her and keep them in your hearts until you are all together again.

I wanted to thank everyone who has left such kind messages on both this thread and ATRW, and for all the wonderfully supportive FReepmails I’ve received. I also wanted to apologize for not responding to each lovely message individually, but I just can’t do that right now. I’m sorry. I have tried to reply to those of you who’ve asked for Mama’s snail mail address; if I overlooked anyone, would you kindly send me a little tickler via freepmail?
No significant update on Mama. Hospice came by yesterday and will be in each Monday until they’re needed more often. They also increased Mama’s primary pain medication dosage. I haven’t heard from Daddy yet whether this helped her or not.
Please keep praying that her pain be eradicated. The cancer can’t be beat at this point, but it’s really hard seeing her in so much pain. She doesn’t show how much she’s hurting, but just knowing that she’s hurting as much as she occasionally admits she is, is very difficult. Please also pray for emotional quiet and peace; I think having Hospice bring the hospital bed yesterday freaked her out some, and drove home the situation in a way that some of the other realities of this disease have not. And finally, would you please pray for my father? He and Mama celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary in January; they’ve been together so long, and they are as in love as ever. Daddy’s whole life has been dedicated to caring for Mama and for my brother and me, protecting us and keeping us. I can’t imagine how difficult this is for him, hard for him in a different way than it’s hard for my brother and me. He needs prayers as much as Mama does.
Once again, so many thanks for all your love, concern, support, and prayers. And I’m sorry I’m not able to reply individually to each of you. Be well, all of you. I’ll pop in occasionally to give updates, if there are any. Would you mind copying this to ATRW?

I have heard about this diet, and others including “The Makers Diet” which sound promising. We are going to order this, but I hadn’t heard of the one you mentioned. Everything that can go wrong with my treatment has, and I thank you for the advice.
