Right, he is hiring staff, recruiting senators, governors, representatives and planning for Prez. Only thing, he NEED to win the primary where the party FAITHFUL choose their choice. That will be based on his time in the senate, votes, positions on issues & it 's the hard part.

Personally neither should be talked about IMHO they are private citizens conducting their own lives and neither are deliberately foisting their private lives on us.

In Chelsea's case unfortunately one cannot pick and choose ones relatives or in-laws though one might question getting involved with this family in the first place.

In Mary's case one may disapprove of her lifestyle but that is her choice the same as having a child is her choice one which I am certain will cause a few heartaches in certain quarters but at the end of the day the child will be loved and get good roles models within the Cheney family.

How long that takes is debatable. Either way I am hoping there is never a day when some level of US forces are not in the country just to stabilize the lust by foreign powers to come in and create mayhem.

I read on Iraq the Model yesterday that their parliment is talking about taking 1/3 of the oil revenues and paying it out to the Iraqi citizens (much like they do up in Alaska). That would make an unbelievable difference because everyone would then have a stake in the country. Sunni, Shiia, Kurd, it would all be Iraqi.

I agree. My fondest wish (dream?) is having members of Congress...heck, include DBM and TV pundits too...be photographed doing or attempting to do the "Dirty Jobs" program segments on TV. That sort of work would take the starch out of them and give them some experience and rapport w/ordinary citizens out there paying their salaries.

Funny, but I have never heard Baker or Hamilton recognize the Iraqi sacrifice in defense of their country. Twice as many Iraqi security forces, police and military, have died than American military personnel. Iraqi government leaders and their families have been the targets of assassinationm some successful. Yet the Iraqis still find people to volunteer for those jobs. I wonder how many present US politicians and officials would be willing to serve under those conditions. Not many.

Did you see that Reid called for a closed senatorial session to start the next congress...and McDonnell agreed to it.

May be, but we have a spy there. Marshall Whitman (aka Bull Moose) is a member of Hertage Foundation & comm.dir. to Lieberman. (He attends all meetings with Lieberman.)
