Former President Jimmy Carter said Sunday he hopes to be buried in front of his home in Plains, the southwest Georgia town where he and his wife were born. "Plains is special to us," the 82-year-old said during a three-hour live C-SPAN2 interview. "I could be buried in Arlington Cemetery or wherever I want, but my wife was born here and I was born here."
As a child, Carter briefly lived next door to Rosalynn, and the two began dating in 1945. The couple married the next year and in July celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
"Plains is where our hearts have always been," he said.
Carter said there are also plans for a funeral in Washington as well as a brief display of his body in Atlanta.

great post - I'd forgotten about that BS.....ahhh...those were the days! Ha! I spent most of his administration working for DoD in Germany and this jacka55 was an absolute joke - not just to the Americans there but to the Europeans as well! I, for one, will not watch his funeral....he's a disgrace! If he were any kind of American (and a former president at that), he would have declined the Nobel Peace Prize when it became apparent that it was only being giving to him to stick it to Pres Bush!

I expect Bill Clinton may try to take that title though. I don't think so. Carter's main goal is to bash America, while Clinton's is to chase skirts. America-bashing is secondary for XXX42.

I suspect in the afterlife, Jimmy will meet the Shah of Iran. It would be interesting to listen in on that conversation; we'll likely hear it in the thunder.

Without a doubt Carter was the worst president in the last 200 years. I was alive and trying to make a living when he was stuck in the white-house. Inflation was outrageous interest rates were at 17%. I had the misfortune to be in the middle east and in the military during his rescue mission. He got a lot of good folks killed because he couldn't find his balls. We are still paying the price in Iran for his socialistic crap.
Jimmy Carter is a socialist and the worst failure as a president ever. No balls, no commitment to the military, and no appreciation of how many Americans have died to make us a great nation. Jimmy just tried his damnedest to give it all away.
He is still running his mouth ans still a repulsive socialist.

I'm sure the bastard delayed his long awaited death, until the Democrats regained power in Washington to ensure his funeral would be handled on a level he didn't earn or deserve..
Rumor had it that a wood chipper and pauper's grave awaited him under the Bush boys....

Carter was the sorriest POTUS of the 20th century.

In my book, he's #2, but that's only because of I-X42, who had to try hard to do us even more harm than Carter.

""Plains is where our hearts have always been," he said."
Does he mean the Plains of Siberia, or Mongolia, because it sure isn't Georgia!
And being buried in the front yard... Guess it's bein' considerate to the folks that want to "pay their respects". What else do ya do on a Saturday night after a few six packs, and huntin' varmits.

Actually, Jimmuh -- I may be the only one who remembers gas lines somewhat fondly. So thanks for all the fun I had as a teen blonde chick in a red convertible sitting in the L.A. sunshine for hours making lots of nice friends!
But no thanks for anything else you've ever done, like starting WWIII and being a consistent traitor to the USA...
