'Time': Baker Report Like Family Intervention With Drug Addict

When the MSM wants to be particularly nasty toward President Bush, it breaks out the allusions to his dissolute younger days. Witness this week's 'Time' cover story 'Can Bush find an exit?,' which manages a two-fer: a reference to W's hard-drinking past and an allusion to him as nothing less than a drug addict.
The story's very first lines:
"George Bush has a history of long-overdue U-turns. He waited until he woke up, hung over, one morning at 40 before giving up booze cold. He fought the idea of a homeland-security agency for eight months after 9/11 and then scampered aboard and called it his idea. But Bush has never had to pull off a U-turn like the one he is contemplating now: to give up on his dream of turning Babylon into an oasis of freedom and democracy . . . "
And later:
"The Baker-Hamilton commission's work has been compared to family interventions for a substance-addicted cousin."
Makes you wonder: just who has been making the comparison that 'Time' reports? Does political reporting get much more condescending and vile than this?

And here we sit and take this liberal clap-trap over and over, decade after decade.
How much longer will we let the NY and Hollywood elites run this country, our pols, our culture, our wars, our education, our communication, our judiciary, and write our very history.
What a sad sack bunch of Americans.

I haven't read TIME in years. Would they in similar situation refer to Clinton's sexual obsessions to explain a potential policy shift? In fact, we know Bush gave up booze cold turkey. Clinton didn't give up his ways. And we don't even know Bush will surrender Iraq as his critics want to thus assure a return of mass murder and condemn our efforts there forever. Bush needs to keep this in mind. These types of people are just like the ones who convinced his dad to raise taxes during Gulf War I. Those who got Bush senior to go along then used it against him. The Liberals will blame any genocide that follows their recommended surrender on President Bush. He'll be damned if he does, and he'll be damned if he doesn't. So he needs to consider taking the war to Syria and Iran more than how to turn the corpse of Iraq over to them. Hold Syria and Iran accountable for their continued spread of terror in the region and Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons. That policy will protect the civilized world. Retreat will only embolden our enemies.

I've never been that desperate for something to read. LOL People watching or staring at blank walls is preferable imo to reading Time OR Newsweek in the doctor's or dentist's offices. To avoid being contaminated by such trash (including People Magazine), I carry my own paperback to while away the time.

One thing we know about this spineless, gutless, underhanded, back-stabbing group of "journalists" is that they scurry back under their rocks when a light is shined upon them.
And, one of the very few tools that we have in our arsenal to fight them with is letter writing campaigns. I know the method seems old and tired, but it DOES work, precisely because they are cowards and ruled by their perception of public opinion.
I strongly suggest that we alter their perception of the topics in this article.
Write to them - today. Clear, concise letters. Short and to the point. Let's do what we can to stop letting them get away with their delusions and propoganda.

RE/Bush:"He waited until he woke up,hung over, one morning at 40 before giving up booze cold.."He(GW)recognized he had a problem and chose to do something about it.That requires a degree of self honesty and humility that many people do not posess.Do the initials TK ring any bells?

When the MSM wants to be particularly nasty toward President Bush, it breaks out the allusions to his dissolute younger days.I didn't think that Time could top its elephant butt cover a month ago, but I can't figure out why I doubted them.
When Ted Kennedy ran for the Demo nomination in 1980, I learned about Chappaquiddick and Mary Jo Kopechne not from the MSM, but from the National Enquirer. In its last throes of national relevance, Life magazine drooled all over the Kennedys. Now it's pissing all over the Bushes.

They are partisan, and could care less about letters from their enemies, they relish them.
No, they should be destroyed personally, professionally, and financially, with their OWN medicine.
By exposing each reporter and hack "news" org, one by one, on their personal, professional, and financial foibles.
Let the public know their political affiliations also, a huge, massive milllions-backed campaign should have taken place decades ago.
Operation research and exposure are long overdue.
Here's a headline from the Syracuse Journal-Herald on this date in 1950.
UN Evacuating Pyongyang;
Troops Face New 'Dunkerque'
This is a headline within 5 months after Truman sent troops to Korea to fight people whom he call "bandits," in what he labeled a "police action."
In the previous week* , 3483 Americans gave their lives for Korean freedom and Truman had threatened to use the A-Bomb.
*(November 26-December 2, 1950)
By the time Truman was out of office, two years later, 30,000 Americans had died.

I agree with you. But, how do we expose them? They control the MSM. We don't need to expose them to us - on FR and other alternative communications. We already know. So - in what forum do we expose them to the (supposed) 1/2 of US citizens who believe what they say?
