I appreciate the derisive message from the cadets to Kerry and the supportive message to GWB...but I wish a message had also been sent to Charlie Rangel, who never misses a chance these days to denigrate the men and women serving in our all-volunteer military.

While the USAF was teaching Bush to fly sophisticated high performance fighters and shoot down nuclear armed Russian bombers, the Navy was teaching John Kerry to steer a boat while Army REMFS were teaching Al Gore to Roll a Dube.

Actually I heard Dukakis served honorably in the Korean War. He was just a liberal dipwad as a politician and looked like a doofus in a tank turret wearing an ill fitting CVC helmet with his big Snoopy-like schnozz. What made him look stupid was his liberal rhetoric against things military and then an obvious attempt to do a 180 with a photo op.

Even being in the Navy, I find that sign from our Army Cadets to be funny. Best "short video skit" on the jumbotron had EVERYONE laughing. Cadets kidnap a milkman (white uniform) and drive off. Van comes back in view, they throw the guy out and apologize, "Sorry, you looked like a Midshipman".

Yes, but his daddy was a decorated Navy fighter pilot who actually shot stuff down. I'm not sure how many TBMs won a dogfight.
And to show you how little respect the liberals and media show the military, they started a smear campaign that said Bush '41 bailed out too soon.
Bastrads aren't they.

Were they restricted to F-102s or did they also get into F-4s? Not sure of your question. Particularly the F-4 part.
The F-102 had a major accident rate of almmost 14 per 100,000 hours. It's higher than the AV-8 Harrier rate.
When it was all said and done, 30 percent of the 875(?) F-102s were lost.
That figure of 70 pilots were those lost in F-102s, both US Air Force and Air national Guard.
I'm pretty sure that Bush's unit transitioned to some plane other than the F-4. I want to say Voodoos but I'm not certain.

Guess my perception was that Dukakis' military service was being equated to Kerry's. Came home after a late night in a noisy bar (great band tho). I see your point this morning.

Guess my perception was that Dukakis' military service was being equated to Kerry's. One thing about Kerry that bothered my were the "two tours" references he allowed to go uncorrected. I know guys who served on a carrier and a destroyer off the coast and they always called it a "cruise" and not a tour. Second, I never heard a Vietnam vet call less than a full tour of duty, a tour.
They might say "twice" and emphasize that one and/or the other occassion was not a full tour.
Don't forget, Kerry and his ilk back in the 60s liked to rant about "ticket punchers" and those who went "in and out" to enhance their careers or collect combat pay. It's part of the urban legend about all our Vietnam servicemen that were smeared by Kerry and the "Vietnam Veterans Against The War" pukes.
