Be Aware Of Registered Sex Offenders In Your Neighborhood!
familywatchdog.us ^

Many people are not aware a registered sex offender maybe living in their neighborhood. Recently a local radio station in my area referred its listners to FamilyWatchdog. Many were shocked to find the number of sex offenders living nearby. I couldn't help but think this is also true for people nationwide. Consequently I am providing the link to Freepers. Just enter your street address, city, state and zipcode in the windows provided at the homepage then click search. A map will appear showing where registered sex offenders live and work near you. There is a map legend to help you interpret the symbols. There are many other features at the website too numerous to mention. I'll let you discover them on your own. Please be aware your state may have laws preventing anyone from harassing registered sex offenders but by knowing where they live we can hopefully keep everyone's kids safe!

I posted real stats; you posted personal opinion.

When you care to deal with actual rates, let me know.

"Quite frankly, I'm more concerned about a paroled murderer, burglar, or armed robber in my neighborhood than I am about some sex offender.
But there's no registry for those felons. They don't qualify. They're not yucky perverts."

Maybe youre not concerned because you wouldnt be the "yucky perverts" victim?? It would be an innocent child.

How do I know your stats are real.

My personal opinion is based on a lifetime which has been involved with this kind of criminal. It is based on my profession.

Where did your stats come from? What is your link.

How does anyone know what your "rates" are and how valid they are. On your say so?

So what I say is on my say so.

You are playing little games and I am not biting. So get off your high horse. Unless you just enjoy playing devils advocate. If so, carry on.

My neighborhood in Queens in very densely populated. I was surprised to see so few offenders show up in my search. One child offender a couple miles away, two rapists, and several "other"s, which I take to be burglars and what not. Even if I had kids, i'd feel pretty safe (not that they'd be out playing without me).

Cool tool. Thanks for sending it along.

bump for later

That will be too late for the carnage, as evidenced by the number of removed posts!

The vast majority of sex offenders are family members not strangers. Forcing them to move out may keep the kids the safe but it doesn't mean they'll register with the police. They'll just go underground and no one will be the wiser.

As long as someone is NOT breaking the law, there's not much the police can do. If an RSO has to live somewhere, I'd have him around where good people can always keep an eye on him.

What, I don't count? I'm not allowed to be concerned for my safety?

Wow. And here I thought you were this compassionate kind of person. I guess not, huh?

I would expect it normal for someone to perhaps have a bit more compassion for a defenseless child and the hell their parents would go through if their child was molested, than a grown man.

But thats just me,I guess.

One would think that there might be concern for both, as one does not preclude the other. I guess not, though.
