Phelps and his bunch of loonies flew into Chattanooga a little while back to protest at a funeral for a young Cleveland TN man that was killed in Iraq. Guess what! Nobody (cabs, car rental companies,etc.) would haul their sorry butts to Cleveland. BAWAAAAA! They were stuck at the airport in Chattanooga with nowhere to go! Rumor has it that a Christian motorcycle group we have here got together with local truckers and said no way they (Phelp's bunch) would get to Cleveland for the funeral even if they had to personally block traffic, and they didn't get here. LOL
I think it was in New Jersey.

GOVERNOR CORZINE ORDERS FLAGS TO FLY AT HALF-STAFF TO HONOR U.S. ARMY SPECIALIST ERIC RIVERA
TRENTON – In honor of U.S. Army Specialist Eric Rivera, Governor Jon S. Corzine signed the following Executive Order calling for the United States and New Jersey flags to fly at half-staff on Friday, December 1, 2006.
The full text of the Executive Order is below.
EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 43
WHEREAS, United States Army Specialist Eric Rivera, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, was raised in Atlantic City and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 2003; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera joined the Army shortly after graduation, serving with honor and distinction as a member of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based in Schweinfurt, Germany; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera was killed while his platoon was conducting combat operations in an area west of Ramadi, Iraq; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera was a courageous soldier who loved his parents, family, neighbors, and fellow soldiers; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera was, in turn, loved by his parents, family, neighbors, and fellow soldiers, who take great pride in his commitment, heroism, and achievements; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera has been recommended for some of our nation’s highest military honors; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera has made the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life in the line of duty, while fighting on behalf of his country; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Rivera’s patriotism and dedicated service to his country and to his fellow soldiers make him a hero and a true role model for all Americans; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and fitting for the State of New Jersey, the State where he was raised and educated, to mark his passing, remember his family as they mourn their loss, and honor his memory;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JON S. CORZINE, Governor of the State of New Jersey, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and by the Statutes of this State, do hereby ORDER and DIRECT:
1. The flag of the United States of America and the flag of New Jersey shall be flown at half-staff at all State departments, offices, agencies, and instrumentalities during appropriate hours on Friday, December 1, 2006, in recognition of the life and in mourning of the passing of United States Army Specialist Eric Rivera.
2. This Order shall take effect immediately.

Not in California.We have juries here in many civil cases.
However,not sure what state this incident took place in.
Their political affiliation has nothing to do with the fact they are vermin. Many of the soldiers we have buried here were democrats.

I'm pretty sure he has an occasional recurring role as a defense attorney. The actor who played Beecher is also a recurring defense lawyer, a long-haired type reminiscent of a younger Ron Kuby. And I remember Scott Winters being in Deadline, a series about a newspaper columnist that was one of Dick Wolf's few failures. It starred Oliver Platt as the columnist and Bebe Neuwirth as his editor, and ran about half a season, I think.
In other cross-overs, Lance Reddick, who played an undercover cop-turned-addict-turned-convict on Oz, went on to play an ME on SVU, and now has the lead in The Wire on HBO. Zejlko Ivanek, who played the governor on Oz, was the DA on Homicide, and did several L&O crossovers in that role. Luis Guzman, who was one of the Latino gang leaders on Oz, has had a number of short parts like uniform cop or fire inspector on various L&O shows.
It makes sense, really; two good friends share their rolodexes, and point each other to actors who can come in on short rehearsal and get the scene in one take. Wolf and Fontana recommend actors to each other the way the rest of us might recommend a reliable plumber or lawn guy.
This gang is not a church at all, of course. It is a sado-masochistic lawyer cult whose membership is limited to one family.
Nine of the 13 Phelps children are lawyers, four of whom are employed by the Kansas Department of Corrections.

I've always wondered how the Phelps cult gets the money for its various activities. Granted, nine of the thirteen Phelps children are lawyers, four of them with cushy state jobs; but it is still hard to account for how they can afford to have two or three different groups traveling around the country all the time. At one point, before the 2003 invasion, they even went to Iraq to join one of Saddam Hussein's anti-American demonstrations.
There is some money behind this and it is not from someone who has any respect for Christian principles.
