Stop assuming the cop is lying and ask "what would CRIMINAL THUGS do if a group of men THEY KNOW TO BE POLICE followed them out to their car and then stood in front of it? "
Hey I live in NYC and we have to hear Sharpie all the time. He and Charles Barron (a city council member) are having a field day. They live for events like this. The Post article is very informative. Barron is just short of urging "da bruthas in the hood" to riot. All you are going to hear about is the ghost of Amadou Diallo (a separate case with flimsier reason for suspicion)---but the poor SOB still got 30+ bullets shot at him. Here the undercover was already in the club witnessing something about to go down. Get ready folks to see and hear a good few antics fro Rev. Al Sharpy Sharpton and the other poverty pimps who love to come out and strut their stuff on such festive occasions.

A 92 y/o Atlanta woman shot to death defending herself when plainclothes police made a "no-knock" entry into her home. She was the only one home -- blown away as she opened fire on the those she honestly believed were home invaders. They were after "drug dealer(s)".
Go figure.
Several personal relationships with police agency chaplains and counselors who are face to face with members of the force(s) on a daily basis.

In other words....you have no data to back up your assertion that LEOs around the country are increasingly infected with a shoot-first mentality.
What is so hard to determine about that. They examine all the guns the cops had--then proceed from there. They never said anything about Guzman actually possessing a gun. He was oveheard by undercover in club saying "let me go get my gun" Post article didn't say anything about gun possibly being ditched in process.

Sorry don't agree. Too many shots fired by the cops (unless there was stuff that wasn't covered in the article).
Well, we'll see when the evidence comes out. Cops aren't immune from just telling their side of the story.

I was in Central Park the other day and there were a group of cops shooting pigeons. Then I saw a cop on 52 and Fifth wing a German tourist who crossed on red. Anfd it's well known that off duty cops regularly flag down cabs by shooting out the roof light.
One doesn't shoot to kill or to incapacitate. One shoots to stop the fight from continuing to occur.

I've heard two different versions of this event that are so far apart that both cannot be simultaneously true.
One or the other may be true; neither may be true. But not both.
So I'm going to withhold judgement on this one.
She did it more than once--it was the victory laps that got her convicted. :)
