“How can you run an effective strategy for the war with a divided government?” asked Seymour Hersh, a previous critic of the Bush Administration and the Iraq war in a series of articles published in the New Yorker. “What we need now is unity. And withdrawing troops would be a disaster. The Democrats were flat out wrong.”

Seymour said this?!?!? Really???

"“How can you run an effective strategy for the war with a divided government?” asked Seymour Hersh"

I have some choice words that wouldn't pass the filters. If he'd said that 2 years ago, we might have been out of Iraq by now.

It was always about the elections. It wasn't about Casey Sheehan, it was about the elections. It wasn't about Gitmo, it was about the elections. It wasn't about torture, it was about the elections. It wasn't about domestic spying, it was about the elections. It wasn't about WMDs, it was about the elections. It wasn't about Osama bin Laden, it was about the elections. The DNC and their little toadies in the liberal MSM did what it took to win the House and Senate back for the Communist wing of the DemocRATic Party. You can take that to the bank.

wtf>!!! How can the war be won when the misguided media is shaping opinion and is more powerful than the pres? Ba$$tards miscredited, discredited and upset the pres and rummie only to learn what THEY have now learned..... the pres's and rummies gameplan. That they were right.

damned media should stay and report on what has happened instead of inadvertently bringing down america through their misguided opinions and propaganda. Its this activity that prolongs the efforts and costs more lives. will they concede to that???

let the pros do their work

Pelosi takes the gavel in a little over a month from and this conflicted, rediculous party still has NO IDEA what to do.

“How can you run an effective strategy for the war with a divided government?” asked Seymour Hersh..."

Riiiight.

“What we need now is unity. And withdrawing troops would be a disaster. The Democrats were flat out wrong.”

Wow, a harsh statement directed towards Democrats! That's courage!

Unity now. No, not 3 1/2 years ago when this country took on this fight while fending off these these loathesome communists at the NYT and the entire Democrat party who jointly have done everything conceivable to hinder and obstruct this adminstration in executing this mission, mind you, but NOW.

Seymour Hersh is a treasonous scumbag. If there were any justice in this country, this low-life would be behind bars.

You don't think this is because the Dems know, indeed have known all along, that cutting and running now would be a disaster? Why, gee, that would mean all their posturing about "exit strategy" and "bring the troops home now" was...well...just that, election year posturing?

I mean, this implies they don't want to leave, have Iraq melt-down, and then they take the heat for it? That would mean they are just out to cover their backsides, whether it be pre or post election. That would imply they really don't give a rat's backside about what is right, only covering theirs?

I'm soooo disillusioned by them now! ;-) /sarcasm

They know they are wrong. They just came up with all that to win some seats. Nothing is going to change. They are part of the problem, not the solution. We should have told men, women and children to get out and flattened Fallujah. That is how you win a war. War is nasty business and not for a bunch of "let's play war by some stupid self-imposed rules." No, I have no taste for it, but just like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it saves lives in the end.

The satire may become reality once the Demos realize that they have to assume responsibility for the outcome. I'd love to hear Bush say, "You want us out? No problem, pick a date and go on record having voted for it." If we had some of those wind generators on the Virginia border, the breeze from the back-peddling would light a small city.

“How can you run an effective strategy for the war with a divided government?” asked Seymour Hersh...this is obviously satire, but I did hear Robin Williams say in some interview yesterday, with a straight face, that a benefit of the recent elections was that there would now be cooperation between the President and the Democrats, which hadn't occurred before. Weird Robin forgot to mention that when there had been cooperation, as with Sen.Lieberman's support of the war, the 'rats tried to expell him from the political stage, and with Jane Harmon working well in the House Intelligence Committee, the 'rats accuse her of supporting Bush too much and deny her the chairmanship of the committee. For 'rats, a unified government means that everybody believes and does exactly and only as they do........
