Muslims protest with prayer at Sea-Tac Airport [Planning major protest in Wash. DC on Monday]

Six Seattle-area Muslims gathered in prayer Friday in front of a US Airways ticket counter at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to protest the removal of six imams from a flight in Minneapolis earlier this week.

The prayer lasted eight minutes without incident.

"We are asserting the right of Muslims to be free of fear, free of apprehension, to take an equal seat at the table," said Jafar Siddiqui, a member of American Muslims of Puget Sound.

Afterward, airport patron Frank Meyers, of San Jose, Calif., accused airport terminal managers of being "politically correct" by allowing the prayer service to block a public elevator.

"We're in a war, sir," he told an airport terminal manager. "We're in a war against terrorism. Do you have any concept of that?"

The imams were removed from the flight to Phoenix on Monday night after three of them said their usual evening prayers in the terminal in Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport before boarding, said Omar Shahin, president of the North American Imams Federation, who was one of the passengers removed.

According to a police report, a US Airways manager said three of the men had one-way tickets and none checked baggage...

A national Muslim group has planned a much larger pray-in for Monday morning at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.

Yesterday I watched a movie I hadn't seen since it was first aired in the 80s, The Day After. It is about a nuclear attack on the US from the Russians. Although the enemy had changed, there was much about the film that struck home.

I have to wonder, what is our government waiting for w/these muslims? For a suitcase bomb in one of our cities? In several cities at the same time? I hate to say it, but there will be a time when we won't catch them before they get on the plane, before they can detonate the bomb. It is just a matter of statistics - if they keep trying, at some point they will succeed. The airlines was right to profile the imams and they'll be right to profile every one of these muslims if it means protecting American lives.

Maybe Bush gets it, but can't be open about our plans to stop these maniacs?

I used to hope that too.

CAIR succeeeded earlier this year in getting a local talk radio station (the station that carries Rush, Sean and Mark)to terminate a really good and popular host for offending Muslims.

The stations is WMAL, a.k.a. DhimmiMAL, in case any of you out there want to avoid it.

Oh good. Arrest every one that has said any thing remotely supportive of any terrorist organization, including this country's largest one.

The Democratic party.

Ya know as much as I hate what the modern Dems stand for, that kind of statement is not very helpful. My Dem Father-In-Law is not a member of a terrorist organization. I think his space in prison should probably be reserved for real criminals.

We are not "in a war against terrorism." We are in a war against the Muslims.

Oh.
Guess you mean that wherever you find terrorism, you'll find Muslims?
So, because terrorists are Muslims, all Muslims are terrorists?

I heard about a woman who gave her testimony on a Christian station saying she had been converted from Muslim to Christianity and stated that EVERY Muslim IS a terrorist. I wish airlines would simply accept sponsorship from all companies selling pork and pig products!

So, because terrorists are Muslims, all Muslims are terrorists?

Go practice your sophistry somewhere else.

You would have been nice to the Germans because they weren't all Nazis? Just a guess but I think a greater percentage of "Muslims" have a favorable view of the Atta attack than Germans did about the death camps.

We are not in a position to be able to decide which ones intend to harm us, because the "good" Muslims (assuming arguendo, there are some.) are very silent.

You can be sure that the ones planning the airport protest are very definitely enemy. They should be treated as enemy, which is to say killed or incarcerated until such time as their brothers end their jihad against the west.

Ya know as much as I hate what the modern Dems stand for, that kind of statement is not very helpful.

I was speaking about the party leadership, not the dupes who follow in lock step

As for not being very helpful.

Ya know I get a little tired of being referred by association by democrats as: Nazi's, hate mongers, corrupt, pedophile loving, homophobic, war criminal, and all sorts of vermin, ad nausea

Dems can sure dish it out, but they can't take it.

Dems can sure dish it out, but they can't take it. Isn't THAT the truth. Nonetheless we should strive to remain above their tactics.

The men boarded moments before takeoff and immediately began passing around cellular phones. The disruption frightened passengers, and the men were subdued by U.S. air marshals. Laura Mansfield, a counterterrorism consultant and Arabic translator, says many of the incidents involve terrorist sympathizers hoping to divert attention from actual terrorists moving forward with real plots. "There is a combination of things going on. They are trying to get the threat level reduced by creating a bunch of false alarms so people will be complacent. It's also a strategy of red herrings and disinformation," she said.

Well, well.
