WASHINGTON — The United States has charged a leading military engineer with transferring classified information to China, Israel and other countries. A federal grand jury in Honolulu has indicted Noshir Gowadia for allegedly sending military secrets to China, Germany, Israel and Switzerland. The 18-count federal indictment handed up Nov. 15 does not detail the charges. Gowadia, a 62-year-old engineer who worked for 18 years at Northrop Grumman, could face the death penalty. His trial was expected to begin in January 2007 in Honolulu.

"As charged in the superseding indictment, the defendant in this case attempted to profit from his know-how and his knowledge of sensitive military technology," Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Wainstein said.

He'll be lucky to get a slap on the wrist. He was only doing what clinton taught him to do and clinton didn't even get a slap on the wrist for such actions.

Ridculous headline. Anybody with an ounce of sense knows he'd never receive a death sentence -- regardless of how much one might wish for same.

FWIW, from this link, scroll down to....

The Enemy Within

From the link:

During their search of Gowadia's home, federal agents found more than 40 boxes and seven computer hard drives that contained classified information. Reading between the lines of the indictment, it looks like much of that data made its way to the PRC, causing potentially grave damage to our national security. I'm also struck by the dates of Gowadia's tenure at Northrup and Los Alamos; he left the defense contractor in the mid-1980s, and presumably, his access to classified B-2 information ended at that point. If the transfer of information didn't occur until years later, it suggests that Gowadia began planning his scheme years ago. On the other hand, there's a possibility that Gowadia was on the PRC payroll for decades, and may have passed the data while still a Northrup employee. Additionally, given Gowadia's apparent relationship with the PRC, it would be interesting to know if he ever had contact with another former Los Alamos employee named Wen Ho Lee.

FWIW.

And from this link, again scroll down....

11.16.05 Aussie in US spy scandal

From the link:

...Mr. Lazarou, 44, was hired a fortnight ago by the DMO to work as a project management coach at Defence Department headquarters - just days after Mr. Gowadia was arrested by FBI agents at his Hawaiian mansion. Company records show Mr. Gowadia and Mr. Lazarou are listed as joint directors and shareholders in the Canberra-based company, NTech Australia Pty Ltd....

FWIW.

"If so the entire democrat party should be indited for changing a republic into a democracy.."

On a similar note, have you ever wondered why it's a Federal crime for lying to Congress, if you're not a member, yourself? Yet, every single day, ALL Senators and Representatives of both parties stand on the House and Senate floors and lie through their teeth, each other. If the law equally applied to them, they would all be (justifiably) in Federal court after their first day in office.

Of course you are civilized. That's why you didn't suggest that he be given a bath in battery acid, dipped in boiling water, packed with salt and then slowly lowered into a wood-chipper, as I might have done. ;>)

If he does get the death penalty, he will live until he is 82 and then be put on probation..... or a dim President will give him a full pardon in a couple of years. Heck, it doesn't sound like he has done anything worse than BJclinton did.
